Thank you for explaining this so well. My cabinet was not clearing on right side and didn't realize the importance of right side mount needing to be flush... not recessed to clear!

Why would people like the corner unit with kidney shaped trays as so much space between the cabinet sides and the trays will be lost 6:44 ? I personally like the unit with rectangular trays/shelves so much better. Did I miss anything in the kidney shaped design?

I’ve never used the other unit, so I don’t have a reference point. The lemans unit gives more flexibility because it pulls into the room instead of along the cabinets. If you have a stove to the right of that unit, then you couldn’t use the rectangular unit.

You could also look up both units and compare the storage surface area. There are larger options with the lemans that utilize more of the space, but they require a larger opening.

Two reasons. If you have a stove or something else to the side it can interfere with the tray sliding, especially the oven handles. Also, if you’re putting pots with long handles they may not fit in the square trays.

Super useful, thanks. The instructions that come with it are pretty useless. And yes, it is the tabs at both ends you need a flat head screwdriver for to remove the trays if needed.

Did you need the 3/8" filler piece to make the mount flush with the face frame? My face frames overhang is 1/4", would I need to make up a filler piece?

I have a half inch overhang on a cabinet...I just installed the hardware with no filler...no problem. The instructions I saw said you need a filler if you get to 3/4 or more overhang. And if you do have a 3/4 or larger overhang....you don't need to fill until it's flush...just get within 1/2" of it so the bracket clears the face frame....and it's a little less conspicuous if you leave it tucked back a bit. No big deal either way though.

What hinges are you using for your cabinet doors? If euro, where they in the way of the rod?

I just ran into this, euro hinges on inset doors. The metal bracket with the rod hole, there’s two of those at different lengths. I used the longer one to set the distance for the bottom mount and it worked perfectly.

These doors were overlay, so the hinges weren’t much of a factor since they only sit proud of the inside edge of the face frame about 1/2”. If using inset doors, you do need to be consider the hinges more as well as your opening width since you lose about another 1-1/2” of opening width with inset doors.
