Kyra Hirsch it’s not overpriced actually,in mint condition it’s worth $2500 and this is mint, It’s a fucking 60s Gibson what are you expecting to pay????? Yeah you occasionally find them for cheap on Craigslist from an old couple that’s had it for 50 plus years who don’t know what it’s worth.

These guitars fit in a clasaical guitar case yet often sound as big as a dreadnaught. The neck feels like a 59 les paul besides the 1 and 9/16 nut. Great fingerpicker that can also keep clarity during heavy strumming.

I have B-25N like this, a 1966. It is a little cannon when you push it with a strong strum yet still clear when you play single notes or do finger style. That price is basically ten times what the guitar cost when new. I bought mine from a guy I went to college with for $50.00 and I would not sell it. Ever. The smaller body size makes it very comfortable to play. The neck is a bit thinner than larger gui- tars but that is part its playabilty. Great for acoustic blues, too. As Michael said, they are also excellent guitars to record with. A small body guitar with the true Gibson acoustic sound is a great combination. At almost $1700, that seems a bit much but I'll bet cash in the hand would bring that price down, maybe to even $1350. This one is in very good condition. Most I've seen have a bit more wear and price out around $1300-1500. I don't know if that's a good deal or not but you would be very happy with the guitar if you like a vintage Gibson acoustic. It was a student model when it came out. But well built, resonant and easy to play.

Also - the Les Paul Headstock Syndrome, as explained most recently from a John 5 YT vid...makes sense because anything with a set neck that is decades old and made out of natural materials will age and shift. You want the age. But the neck angle not only makes it difficult to play, it completely clobbers the angular stiffness (for lack of a more literate term) of the length of the instrument, so it will start to absorb energy from the overall sound, which is why sometimes an instrument can sound simply dead when there's nothing else visibly wrong with it. Also, with the bridge not being tight, the coupling is severely degraded between the string energy and guitar top, which is your natural amplification surface, the radiant area distributing the energy from the strings into the acoustic cavity where the rest of the mixing happens before we get the sweetness hitting our ears. All this stuff clobbers the freely passing around of energy in the instrument, disrupting not just sustain and resonance but making it sound shitty and weak in general. At that point, it's a crime not to restore it and get someone playing that thing. When I start to deserve $1500 guitars, I will have a couple like this...no matter your wood aging tech/methods/process/whatever, nobody can replicate or refute Time. It would have been a shame to see this baby sitting in a case or display somewhere, unlikely to ever be held again, heard again...truly loved again. Because if you truly love a guitar, you can't not play it, no matter the value society puts on it.

Amazing how fixing something to make it good again can make it worth less. It's not like it's had a refinish or had the tuners replaced and holes drilled out on the headstock. Sometimes the bonkers vintage market works in our favour. It sounds great and that is a reasonable price. Thanks for the video.

cool playing and passion , Lemmo- Has anyone ever noticed that the 1960-70 era Gibson acoustic guitars sometimes make your finger tips ache after 10-15 minutes of playing no matter how seasoned of a guitarist you are? Well, my sonic friends - this is attributed to the FACT- that Gibson used a very dense- Steel Truss Rod- The truss rod's mass and center of gravity provides the ' NASAL TONE' of the neck adds awesome Gibson NECK tone also regarded as the infamous ; ' BELL TONE ' to the overall acoustics of the guitar- but like I mentioned- it causes the fingertips to sting- everything's a trade off- but that is one of the MYSTERIES of vintage Gibson guitars- SOLVED for you- by me- Moonbeam JIm- folk rock jazz World styles musician/guitarist/song writer/ vocalist

Just goes to show if you want a great sounding guitar to PLAY not just look at by getting a great craftsman like Joel to cast his magic on it you get a vintage guitar that knocks a Sigma or similar out of the park! Please make us musicians aware of these fantastic bargains on the new site - 'Players Corner' or 'Musician's Muses'? They would sell quicker than Mark's expensive items! Keep up the good work both Joel and Lemmon. Greetings from across the Pond

Kielland Supernault I disagree. I have a solid rosewood Japanese Sigma I got for just under 400. Blueridge makes more affordable solid guitars, Alvarez, Nippon Gaki Yamahas... I could go on. And I still say, it's not supposed to be "affordable for what it is." Especially since B25s were selling for 700 bucks all day long not 10 years ago. The artificial inflation in the used guitar market is trash. in fact, I might be wrong, but hasn't Mark done one of these? If we're gonna have the same guitars on this AND guitar of the day, I see this show losing its plot fast.

You had to figure that a loaded word like “affordable” would end up being the springboard for all sorts of class-shaming. If I had a good reason to buy a $1.7K acoustic guitar, I’m sure I could come up with the funds; however, my natural parsimony compels me to consider ~value~ first. And if that means owning something from China, so be it.

Much prefer hearing from Joel when he explains what he did to the guitar, and why, as opposed to his adolescent photo bombing and all-around store clown persona. Do we have M.L. to thank for that? BTW, Repair Room is a cool setting for Lemmo Demos.

with the Gibson fiasco, it could up real fast in value. I have a 2009 humming bird and it has gained 1k so far but she is too awesome to let go of.

Affordable is relative. Compared to 10-20 thousand dollar instruments these are very affordable.

C’mon Lemmo. Do some New 400 to 500 dollar Epiphone Or Yamaha or Taylor acoustics. Do you honestly think the average working class musician is gonna have 16 grand to drop on one instrument? I hope this series doesn’t become “my affordable but still very expensive to most musicians favorites”.

"16 grand..."?? The price is $1695. Sixteen grand is $16,000 not $1600 - a factor of 10x in difference. Maybe you need to go back to basic arithmetic class and learn how numbers work...

Oh I didn’t see the comma next to the one. If they had put that comma I would known the guitar costs $1,695 instead of $16,000. I naturally thought it was $16,000 because I did not see a comma in the front of the one next to the six in the title of this video

Complaining about affordability. What do you people want to see? Squier? 2017 Epiphone? Fender T Bucket? Geezus. Go to your local Guitar Center and see all the affordable guitars you want. If your looking for a $300 affordable guitar YOU’RE WATCHING THE WRONG CHANNEL.
