I love the point of this song, or at least the way I interpret it. To me, the idea is "do what you want with your body because you suffer the consequences of your own choices", and "don't let anyone keep you from doing what you want with your own body". You rarely see a song with such a odd yet realistic theme.

@@gwan1714 self harm has less to do with making your body look different and more just a twisted way to either force yourself to "feel something" other than depression or for some a twisted way to punish yourself because of some guilt your feelings force on you. Body modifications stand out for a reason, you want to express yourself to others and stand out from the crowd, or fit in with another, to feel a bit better about yourself. By contrast most people who self harm hide their scars and cover up stuff about themselves like their feelings because it's internalized. Something like cutting yourself is a lot different than getting a tattoo or wearing piercings.

Self harm is unwanted, but difficult to stop once it starts. Body modifications are always wanted (unless it’s needed from injury to a limb) and done to make yourself more appealing to others or just yourself
