I dont know if i just got really lucky. I watched a different youtubers video and he said to do pretty much the same thing as you did and i tried for a while with no luck. First try watching your video i got it. The only thing i did different was go out a different door.

PS4 Pro here too: I was consistently getting them by pressing X at the door within milliseconds after 19 seconds was reached my stop watch. I got three in a row with this method.

You can get it after returning from Rabanastre with Basch from Barheim Passage. Once the Moogling is open you can go to the aerodome and fly to Nalbina

Yeah its amazing.u use cure on reks by the save crystal and u look for cure numbers 88 97 and 90 then load the auto save and watch the npc run up and down the stairs 4 times works 100 percent.u could fully endorse that method .ur vids are great mate keep up the good work

I now have 3 of these things lol. I can't get over how it was a pain at first. After trying so many times, I stand by the time method and the zoning in. Also to those who say why get the the bow, I say go for it you've conquered the game before. I have just about 99.9% the game a once, and I never had one the best weapon in the game. The best items for me were when I would get the ribbon later in game, and the weapon the game easily gave up during that time. So for me to finally get the strongest weapon in the game being only less than half in is great. Thanks again lemon for the vids. Keep it up 😁.

I want to share my experience on this I was ready to give up but gave it a last go. I used the reks method the cure combination 97-94-95 guarantees chest spawn I can confirm this tried it alot and 100% spawn rate. Opening the chest I used the child and parent method and it works no BS tried, tried it with a guy on stairs method but failed me multiple times

And there is the reks 88 97 90 heal to auto save that works as well but you have to count 4 times of the guy walking up the stairs instead of the kid for that one. Both work , I did both methods and got 2 from each just look for which set of numbers you get first 97, 94 , 95 kid 88 , 97 , 90 guy on stairs

Finally got this using the Reks method of cure on Reks at the first save point of the game and trying to get the sequence of cures 97, 94, 95 or 88, 97, 90. I then used the kid running method once the chest was spawned. I don't know who's method the Reks cure method is but it worked for spawning the chest.

Got 3, great video. I had 5 chests spawn over about an hour and half. The way I got my timing was as soon as vaan is completely visable start the stop watch then at just before 20 seconds, has to be on 19 enter the airship. The first two chests I got were 10gil and a knot of rust. Then I realized I didn't have the diamond armlet equipped. After that got 3 more spawns not long after. Don't know why I got them because I won't use them just wanted to see if I could. Doing fine without them...........IT WILL RUIN YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE..

I know this is old and everything but as of August 9 2019 it still works. All you need is for the chest to spawn and then watch the kid. Got mine on my very first chest spawn.

I never get that kid when I get in the airship. It's only a merchant that paces back and forth to each railing. That and a moogle that climbs up and down the stairs to talk to another group of nice. The chest always appears when I do the Reks cure values (88, 97, 90), and i have tried many different timings on both the merchant and the moogle, but nothing after hours of trying.

Not true. You can get the Bow as soon as you are able to board an airship. Like in the story when heading to bhujerba. All you need is a save file from playing as reks. Get the cure spell to heal for exactly in this order 88, 97, 90. Then reload autosave. Watch the guy going up and down the stairs. Wait for him to go up a 4th time and open the chest. I got 3 back to back in less then 10 minutes.

The timing for the kids is to press as soon as his tank movement on his feet stops when he turns to his parent. Don't look at his head. Look at his feet.

Guys GuyS! Doing it wrong do not start 20sec stopwatch when you see the screen load up... start it when you hear the music start (even when the screen is still black) Did this 3 times in a row and got the bow 3 times in a row start stopwatch when music dose. at that point the game is already loaded up and going even if the screen its self has not so you been over timing.. :d

Just for shits i did it a 4th time. Starting stopwatch when i hear music still working :P Just do not forget to add your reaction time into account if your using a stopwatch (The time you hear the music and the time you hit start can be up to half a second long if you have a low reaction time.)

Vincent Costa The biggest hurdle for me was getting the chest to spawn. if you can do that more consistently it will only take practise to get the bow. best of luck.

I cannot say that the chest spawning method is 100%. I only got it tow work once, but other people have got it to work fairly consistently. I hope you have luck. If not try looking at the forum links on Gamefaqs and Reddit. The method to loot the bow however I would say is 100% as long as you get your timing SPOT ON! Post any tips or advice you have here for other players! I did the chest spawn with a PS4 Pro with a digital version of the game at 20.4 seconds. EDIT: Sorry about the length of the video... I really didn't feel I could make it any shorter :/

I find the "100%" video to be misleading that someone else titled it as. Its clickbait really and I find it funny they say to try again if it doesn't work (eg not 100%) I'm trying to find the specific timing to see if I can manipulate it because this could have the potential to completely break speedruns. I'm curious how it would work in them. I wonder how fast bosses would die if you managed to get 3 quickly and if the time saved is even worth the invested time (probably not worth 3 but I'm still going to try it)

Oh shit I got it launch ps4 and disc version if you care. I re entered the air ship at 18 seconds just to off set the animation and waited for the boy. The second he stops hit X and I got it.

I can confirm that the chest spawning method does in fact work. And you're allowed to have guest characters in the party as well as Vaan (I have Reddas atm). I got 2 out of 2. Going to try and limit how much I use it though.
