I am fully caught up on the anime and Dressossa remains is still one of my favorite arcs. I guess I can understand how some people might not like it, but I love it. As for Bartelomeo - I adore that weirdo. He's us!

I like how you've mentioned Goku, not knowing that Goku is Eiichiro Oda's greatest inspiration for Luffy. Eiichiro does go about a character like Luffy/Goku a different way by making Luffy more driven by emotion than Goku was (Goku likes to fight more than win). But Goku is willing to put his life on the line for the friends he has made along the way.

what's funny about you liking this arc is that the anime adaptation is considerably worse than the manga version (the anime drags out the arc with poor animation and terrible pacing to an unbelievable extent), so you would love the manga version even more lol

Current (last) arc even the worst. Very slow pacing and to much trash flashback. One Piece animation after time skip is not fun anymore. Pre time skip very enjoy able every eps. Now i only manga reader

Dressrosa is a top 10 arc for me personally. I understand the criticisms though about the pacing, long recaps before episodes at times, general production quality being low. Week to week this arc would've been difficult, but as a binge it's much better.
