Lena Haecki: Women on the Rise

Lena Haecki started the 2019/2020 BMW IBU World Cup season like never before: she anchored Switzerland to a maiden women relay podium in Oestersund, repeated the feat in Hochfilzen and finally captured her first ever individual top 3 in Annecy Le Grand Bornand. No wonder, she is our next guest of Women on the Rise, where we discovered more about this talented Swiss.

"Women's biathlon is getting stronger & stronger every year" That's absolutely incorrect. It's getting weaker & weaker actually. No Domracheva,Kuzmina,Koukalova & Dahlmeier... now every girl can have a chance. Fluke era.

Only Kaisa left. When she & Dorothea retire, it will become more opened than ever. Literally any girl could win the overall crystal globe. Olsbu,Vitozzi,Oeberg,Tandrevold, Davidova,Braisaz,Simon,Haecki & definitely few more.

Yes, this season will be fight between Wierer, Braisaz, Eckhoff and maybe Makarainen, but I think that the overall winner will be Tiril.

@@JanVajrauch Tiril is not very reliable most of the time 😅😅😅 but she's definitely in form of her life,winning last 4 races. p.s. i don't think Makarainen can win the overall unless Wierer or Eckhoff flop. Don't forget Tandrevold too...

100% agree. With Vittozzi struggling and Herrmann becoming weirdly slow on the skis, this season is even weaker than anticipated. Fialkova and Hojnisz don't live up to expectations either. The overall score should be easy for Wierer if she simply gets a bunch of average top 10 places. Eckhoff can take it from her if she gets more stable at the shooting. Olsbu Roeiseland missed out on a couple of races already. And Tandrevold would be a huge surprise if she can make it.
