Also, you can refresh your hair every day by misting water over it in the shower or sink. You don't have to wash it with shampoo, just get it wet to add back moisture and to get your curl pattern back. Then add a lightweight conditioner. Water is moisture, so that makes a big difference. Curly hair looses moisture a lot quicker. Then let it air dry or hover a diffuser over it on low heat. Other than adding product, don't touch it with your hands until it is completely dry. That adds frizz.

@@LenaxBasco i have a question. do u think that curlier perms would be harder to handle? i noticed ur perm was pretty wavy, but i was wondering if it was more curly, would it be too much of a hassle? i wanna get it curlier but im not sure because some people say that if you brush thru tangles the curl would be extended and look weird compared to the other curls

@@user-pm2zv9fs5r there are videos on here that will give you all the information your looking for and show the different amount of curl you can get, one piece of advice ask for a ‘spiral wind’ perm the effect is quite different to a normal wind, also be aware after about a month it will ‘drop’ meaning your hair will relax so if it looks tight at first it will be slightly looser after about a month so don’t be afraid to use smaller perm rods. I’m a retired hairdresser who was having ‘poodle’ perms back in the 80s 😳 I’ve just had my first perm in over 20 years and WOW! 🤩 I love it. The trick with a diffuser is to first apply your products to protect your hair including your leave in conditioner. A styling cream or gel and a heat protectant. Then do not touch your hair with the diffuser. Hang your hair upside-down and hover the diffuser over your head. That will prevent frizz and help speed up air dry. Move your head around as you diffuse to help with volume and movement. Don't stay upside-down the whole time.

Your hair looks great! Very healthy. I'm 47 years old, so I lived through big bar hair of the 80's and 90's. I've had several perms and I'm looking at videos, so my daughter can perm my hair in a couple weeks. I've noticed current you tubers are saying things like - don't highlight or colour hair and perm, but if your hair is as healthy as your's is it would actually benefit you because it would open cuticle a bit to help absorb perm solution. So, if you want real spirals or actual curly hair, I would perm it again now and the next perm will take. This perm did not take. If I was you I would have asked for a refund. It's too late now, but go to someone who gave perms in the 90's and they know what they are doing. Your hair texture now, is how mine is naturally and I call that straight. You don't need much product, just some argon oil and mousse. Scrunch it damp and air dry or quick wand of blow drier until damp dry. I'm guessing. This is frustrating because you barely have a wave, you were overcharged. Sorry

I brought a photo, but the stylist did not give me what I wanted...but thankfully I had tough hair back then. Just wanted to let you know that I love your virgin hair! I'm not saying the perm looks bad or anything, I like it, just wanted you to know that I (and many of my friends) think the exact type of hair that you have is incredibly gorgeous, the silkiness and sleekness, the perfect straightness, the depth of the colour, the low porosity... Just ah, a dream of many of us Slavic girls! 😍 A lot of women with typical Slavic hair wish for our hair to be like yours, since ours is often "wrinkled" (neither wavy nor straight, with a big tendency to frizz) and of high or medium porosity. Thanks for this video, very informative. 🙂

Tip: when your hair is still sopping wet after rinsing just distribute some conditioner throughout your hair; don’t rinse just blot your hair and use a wide tooth comb scrunch with hands or wrap in a cotton shirt for 15 minutes or more and then just let air dry. Putting some conditioner in while your hair is sopping wet is like leaving in a a detangle spray.

I live in a Southern state, USA. For the past 5 years I've gotten a perm, right when the weather heats up with no regrets. I have "Asian" hair, straight and almost no texture. I still need to do a little heat styling to make my hair set right. During the summer after I heat style, my hair will look nice for about 15 minutes but then the humidity gets the best of me, and my hair gets wonky. It took 2 years to convince myself to get a perm, I didn't want the 80's big hair. Luckily, I found a stylist that does a great job! She uses the orange rods, and she layers my hair (long layers), the result is "beachy waves". I wash, use a curl setter and go. If you're on the fence, just do it but find someone that knows what they're doing and show pictures of exactly how you want your hair to look like.
