Back in the days that internet was just a distant echo, cellphones didn't exist and MTV was our mirror to the world and I, as a 14 year old had a crush on her, like a million other boys. For some reason I'm crying as I realise those days are gone for good. God I miss them...

Around 1999 I was working in a pub kitchen. The side door was open, the sun was shining, I was surreptitiously having a pint, and loving life. This song came on the radio and I turned it up. That was a moment in time, and for years I tried to work out what the song was. This was when Shazam seemed like science fiction. I tried to remember the lyrics. I wonder if Six Pence None The Richer was it. I even listened to compilations albums trying to find it. Eventually, about ten years ago, "sitting down here" popped into my head. I couldn't really make any of the lyrics out in my memory. I Googled it, found it, playing it on KZbin and felt relief. I'd found the song, almost fifteen years after I heard it that moment when I was still in my teens and having a ball. Anyway, that's an inconsequential about how music is the soundtrack to life.

My parents bought me a DVD player back in 2004 and it came with an MP3 disc as gift, this song was usually my favorite, it doesn't have any title but shows only as track. Someone borrowed the disc and never returned it, since than I've been trying to find that song but I couldn't and also I forgot the lyrics but I only remember the tune or humming of it. So today, somehow I started humming in my head and decided to use Google sound search and my humming got 21% match and now I'm here happily listening to it after a long time. It's pure good old memories. 😊👍

No... I've been curating a list of songs from this era, specifically the early half of 2003-2012. This was the period I started working on a side job as a postman and it was my first exposure to pop. Certain songs like this one were on repeat for several weeks. They fill me with memories of warm envelopes, printing ink, hot summer and cold winters where, as soon as my bags were empty, I could just go home and enjoy the rest of the Saturday and Sunday off.

Lol there have been snowflakes throughout history and always will be, the only difference is that they now have social media to find like minded people. Anyone who thinks it's a new thing knows nothing of history. I mean less than 100 years ago white people in the US couldn't even bear to go on a bus with black people. Can't get much more snowflake than that. Take a look at all the tame shows which were never allowed to be aired ever again because they got letters from people complaining and you look at it now and it's nothing. People were massive snowflakes decades ago too 😂

I remember around 2010- 2011 I heard this song on the radio at home. Usually the radio jockey announces the song title after the song was played, but for this song they skipped it. I just remembered the lyrics ' I'm sitting down here yeah am I inivisible". I searched everywhere for this song and I couldn't find it. Few years later in college , I suddenly remembered the verse and tried searching for it again. Almost had tears in my eyes when I found it, it felt like that childhood friend you had vague memories about but when you meet them in adulthood it's all clear.

why tf do people just blatantly invent fake stories on the internet, you achieved what exactly?
@zolo5376

@@yeahiagree1070 lol this story isn't fake at all! Why did you "blatantly "just assume it's fake? If you wanna know the details, I heard this first time around 2010, there was no internet at my house and so the only source for listening to songs was from radio. There is a radio station called 91.9 indigo in bangalore, India(where I reside) which plays only international songs. This song came about in it once when they were playing indie genre songs. I just remembered a line from the song and had memorised it to eventually find it. When I moved to college, there was free wifi there. And in 2016/2017 I managed to type parts of lyrics of songs whose names i did not know and viola! I found this gem of a song. I commented just to express my feelings and experience, and to know whether somebody else felt the same. I don't know what made you question it's authenticity.what do "you" even get out of it?

*_Oh GOD, I remember that time in 1999 after school I collected money a little by little at a time to buy a cassette LENE MARLIN first album Playing My Game. I always kept her album in my bag everyday went to school inside my Walkman(SONY), I wish to meet her one day, just wanna say thank you in personally.. because her music make my day so beautifully when I heard her voice "Sings like an angel, but u can't hear those words"..Unforgivable Sinner => Unforgettable song for me, until my English teacher angry up with me when I asked her about what's the meaning of that words in my language. I love Lene Marlin so much, such a good memory I ever had in my life._*

From Cádiz, in Spain. 2 days ago i didn't know how is called that song that reminds me happy times. Now i'm in love forever with this song. Is the typical song you hear on the car radio going to the water park or the pool. Especially here in Spain with stations such as Kiss FM, Los40, Melodia FM, Europa FM, M80Radio...

I was finishing high school in 99 and this was the soundtrack of those winter months. Distinctly remember singing this song (badly) with a mate of mine who’s since passed and always remember debating how hot a Scandi accent is on a chick and Lene’s was top drawer!!!!

I'm really proud of being a Norwegian when i hear Lene Marlin's voice and her beautiful songs. Because we have no other female singer songwriters here in Norway that is better then Lene Marlin in my opinion, because Lene Marlin has the most beautiful and unique voice that i've ever heard from a Norwegian girl. Because she's singing like an angel, and she looks like one too because she's really beautiful. And this song is bringing back a lot of good childhood memories from 1999 when i hear it, and i really wish that i could go back to the 90's again, because the 90's was a really awesome decade, and i also had the best time of my life in the 90's.

@@Raider577 Yes i can agree with you on that one, and i'm not braging about it because i'm a Norwegian, but it's made a lot of good songs here in Scandinavia. And we a lot of artists here in Norway but i think Lene Marlin is the best female singer songwriter that we have here in Norway. But the country that i personally thinks is the best at making music here in Scandinavia is Sweden in my opinion, because the Swedes are really amazing at making really good music. 🙂
