GREAT ! If he can't see, his brain and fingers are working full blast. A very great gentleman of the Jazz piano.

I know why Lennie Tristano didn't become 'popular' - Because it takes a well - trained jazz ear to understand or partially appreciate what is happening . To many of my colleagues and friends they say it sounds like banging and dissonant nonsense. It is pure genius. It is something else -It is almost like we are hearing a live running version of a mind - listening to a piece of music and then giving an almost simultaneous response. It is partial - It is not complete. We must appreciate that. His performance is not a complete version of the melody. It is his response , a live response to the song as it plays in his mind. Once you understand this, it is truly something unbelievable.
