Exactly, I came to appreciate Lewis after long examination. In the beginning I thought he was an overrated nobody, but when one examines his fights and career closely, he/she would have to conclude that this man was a legend and one of the greatest Heavyweights of all time.

I've been a critic of Lennox Lewis for a long time, but after observing his achievements and extraordinary career, I've come to love the guy and realise that without doubt, he was the greatest heavyweight fighter in his era and one of the best heavyweights of all time, hands down and anyone who disagrees would be stupid...

I'm from the UK my favourite fighters , Old Chavez Mike Tyon ,Ray Mercer for Heart and Sour ,,Lloyd HoyGain, Hollyfield , Conello Avarez Felix Trinidad ,Manny GGG ,Marvin Hagler, ,Gatti ,Carl Frotch Barrera ,Kirkland Lang .Jack Dempsey etc etc .I'm not a Lewis fan but respect him for being the GOAT ,No bias here

There was always a bias against Lennox not being the most exciting fighter. Totally absurd…he had some great knockout wins…so much so he scored the Ring magazine KO of the year on 3 occasions!!

@@maegeri007 Yes, Larry is possibly the most over looked boxer, either him or Ezzard Charles! Larry had arguably the greatest jab ever, moved well and had all the tools of a great champ! He just came into his own during a much over looked era in HW history..probably why he is over looked.

@Sudarshan ara ...power really wasn't a thing it was more about agility/defense, the more you could avoid being hit the more damage you could inflict on your opponent. We were just kids back then, it was before he even started training for the Olympics and even at that time you could see he was destined for greatness.

@Sudarshan ara ...he was extremely tall for his age and he easily kept others at bay with his jab but he was very skinny then so I couldn't imagine how much power he had in his prime. Power could be defined in many different ways, getting hit by Max Baer, George Foreman or Mike Tyson all have extreme power like being hit by a truck where as being hit by the new breed of fighters Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua or Dillian Whyte are on a whole new level.

I think what happened here Ben was Lewis's fights before the Mcall fight were not actually that bad. I think the American media hated A non American being the champ so they went way over the top in being unfairly criticized which made Lennox kind of second guess himself. Here he is fighting totally the wrong fight actually coming FOWARDS!! He shouldnt have lsten to the American media about Not being aggressive enough. This Combined with a dubious trainer with bizarre instructions i wouldnt be suprised if he wasnt a plant!!

Lennox had that calm Nature and a good disciplined boxing style I realy learned to enjoy with him by watching! Before I noticed him not a lot and now I have to watch evry fight he've stepped on!! And he did almost every fight very well - he deserve his success!! Lewis chin was below average.Any top 10 of all time had a great chance to ko or beat lewis in his best abilty.He was overrated.His timing was perfect,ducking the tyson era of the late 80's by running to the olympics and even after turning pro in 89,still ducked the rest of the top guys for another 3 yrs. Then waited for all of them to decline and only had to deal with bums .Lewis was overrated by a bunch of overzealous 90's fght fans.
