Vitali Klitschko was good, and he was unanimously winning the Lewis fight after 6 rounds. That fight should have gone to the scorecards -- as dirty fouls caused Klitschko's cuts. Bowe-Lewis didn't happen and Wladimir Klitschko was avoided by Lewis when he was the top contender. Lewis would not be champion today. @CarlosSamuel-ms9ee3 сағат бұрын
Most fighters have 2 or 3 strengths, and aim to steer the fight in the direction that allows them to use them to maximum effect. Lennox was a complete boxer, meaning his greatest strength was typically the weakness of the other fighter. Therefore being patient and observant was usually the best way for him to maximise his winning chances; it wasn't about being lazy, but about not wanting to take unnecessary risks in order to win. That also means if the other guy is vulnerable early on, but more dangerous the longer the fight lasts, then it makes sense to go after them from the start and take a some early risks, which he did on a few occasions. Admittedly it was frustrating to watch when the other guy was there for the taking, but Lennox was content to just keep his distance and give the other guy no chances, and a couple of times he was over-cautious, but it makes sense from a practical point of view.
