Thanks for mentioning that, and from your comment I can't quite tell if you are aware or not that it IS actually MJ's voice doing those. If you watch the other version of this video showing Lenny play all the instruments in his studio ("Studio Version") he has a picture of Michael in a chair during those parts. Lenny has said in interviews since that it's a recording he has held onto from a session he was involved in with MJ and that is amazing!

This is an ode to British R&B and American Funk if I ever heard it. I hear elements of David Bowie and Freddy Mercury, Nile Rodgers and Chic, George Michael's work with Deon Estus, Sade's band, Junior Giscombe, complete with Rod Temperton's productions of Michael Jackson.
