@jefthereaper3 жыл бұрын
@@filipesaul8435 Making mistakes should not mean he has no right to a happy ending (just look at Isaac, I mean he slaughtered 99% of the people on his journy before he had his ephipany.) Let alone, turning on Dracula was hardly a mistake, he was going to kill all human life.
@wowman5423 жыл бұрын
This is just me but I think there's an unspoken potential in Hector's ending, yes he didn't get to stay with the girl he loved but he's now free from all types of influence that would take advantage of him. He's grown in working with others to bring back Dracula, maybe he'll do the same in forging new connections with other forgemasters around the world. His ending is not inherently happy but is one where he's now taken control of where it goes from there. Beyond his admiration for Dracula or his childish want for pets, he retains the capacity to reinvent himself like Isaac did and I see no reason to assume he'll simply go back to the way he did things before season 3. We don't see him ride off into the sunset happy but I am glad we get to see his arc end the way he wanted it to, free from Carmilla and where he's atoned for his betrayal of Dracula.

@@SeraphimDragon "I was pissed that Hector didn't seek vengeance for himself." On some levels, I'm not fully convinced he didn't. Watch their conversation right before her suicide. She has just lost everything, her entire world crashing down on her head. Everyone she had ever known dead or gone, her kingdom gone, the diplomacy she had wrapped up so much of her self worth and identity is gone, the sisters with whom she had ruled and lived with and relied upon for two centuries are dead or 'missing' *(all of this Hector contributed to, remember), her craved security and safety stripped away, and Lenore is absolutely at the lowest point she has ever been. She's clearly depressed, lost, and spiraling into an existential crisis. The girl is absolutely crushed. All that is left is Hector. It is in this context, when she is attempting to talk things through with him, that he flat out calls her a parasite to her face. See her reaction to that, the widened eyes, as if he had just staked her heart. It is this moment that Hector actually kills Lenore. She suddenly determines in that very moment to end it all. She might have walked outside under her own power, but it was absolutely Hector's callous and flippant words that push her to the decision. Add to all this the fact that in this setting, 'forgemaster' Hector should know better than anyone that her death wouldn't actually be the peaceful or restful end she hoped to achieve, rather she's only about to walk herself into a different, more horrific cage, consigning herself eternally to hell and whatever horrors rule there. Trapped, with far less hope of escape than her current circumstance - he knows better than anyone save maybe Isaac that she would certainly not get the peace she hoped for - and even so, he just stands there passively and lets her do it without so much as a word. No lifeline thrown when she clearly and desperately needed help and, given all the recent grief and loss, could not possibly be in a fit frame of mind to be making this kind of irrevocable decision. Offers only the barest of sympathies or sign of 'friendship.' Sitting passively, letting her seal her own final fate as she walks out, a few seconds of peace and happiness, only to awaken afterwards in the cage of hell for all eternity. Dude was probably meant to just be too broken and pathetically clueless and passive as always to offer her an alternative, but even so, he could not have enacted a more coldly calculated and thoroughly complete revenge upon Lenore for what she and her sisters had done to him had he spent 10 years scheming and planning it. So messed up.

Wouldn't be a show with vampires if there wasn't one dying to the sunrise LUL Jokes aside, incredible theme, for an incredibly emotional scene. The song climaxing as she smiles at Hector and turns to ash is just perfect.

The previous conversation of vampires not liking change gives more context. Being depressed and having an existential crisis where you can't outrun change. The only thing that can truly bring stability, is death.

Ironically Hector, endouring the pain of losing her, gived Leonore the freedom of choice he didn't have for himself at the first time they met, when Leonore foolished him to do what she and her sisters want him to do. The tragic thing about both is that despite they are truly in love, deepdown they were very different, Hector has the condition to evolve and adapt, to have another perspective and goal in life even after all he endured but in the other hand Leonore doesn't want the same. She wanted the world or reality to be as she is used to and most important she is not willing to live in a different way. Not even for Hector. She died as she lived, in her own terms. So after all and even loving eachother they are not meant to be. Hector accepts the world as it goes and Leonore only wanted to live in a world suitable for her needs, desires and thoughts. So I think this is why many people was upset about Leonore's death, because she had the choice to keep on but she just didn't want it. That hurts, so many times life is complex and "logic" just doesn't work. Pure tragic and poetry.

No, she asked, "Is that all there is to it?" because the sun is something special to humans, but the sensation of its warmth was not as mindblowing as expected. A willing acceptance not just of the death, but of how it is executed.
