This video shouldn't be necessary in the first place. But I'm glad it exists. My solution so far was to pull the spring a bit longer, but that is quite difficult. A second spring is much easier ^^

No way - my Pen was always disconnecting or not writing and i went through 3 years of university and 2 "repairs" from Lenovo for a damn ballpoint pen-spring to fix this extremely annoying problem, thank you so much.

Works! If you don't have two springs this small you can also use a single bigger one often found in ballpoint pens. You need some patience to get it squeezed between the two parts of the pen though.

Tip for anyone trying this: don't put the end of the spring that you've cut against the battery. I did that and the battery started heating up and the light went red within seconds of turning it on. Flip it around and use the finished end of the spring against the battery and t works a treat.

It's already the second one since I own the lenovo tablet and I was thinking about buying the third pen so I can learn without being interrupted every minute... you saved my life! Didn't have wire cutters for cutting a pen spring, so I placed a small piece of foil instead and it seems to have a similar effect. Thank you for this video, I was genuinely looking for a completely different brand to replace my pen since the constant "dying" was absurdly destructive to productivity :)

Do you know which battery runs the bluetooth part of this pen -- the watch batteries, or the AAAA battery? (i have a pen that does not seem to be receiving power to the bluetooth. the symptom is the LED on the pen doesn't go one when I hold the top button down for 3+ seconds)

Bluetooth runs off of the one in the back of the pen the tiny one. And that is why I used an extra spring like in the video.

I got a warranty replacement which then had the same issue a few months later, at which point I got a refund and bought the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 which has a sealed rechargeable battery and therefore no spring inside. Seems much better built so far.
