My IdeaPad 1 looks identical to this from the outside but the memory is not user replaceable. There is no memory socket on the board, just an empty space where the memory module would go. Buyer beware.

yes only certain models have the addon memory slot,, others have just the area where it would be, so youre stuck with the onboard memory which i believe is 4 gb thats how both of mine are ,,No add on slot

@@johnniec2861 Yes. The lack of upgrade ability is ashame. I would say the biggest limiting factor the laptop is the memory. Another 4GB would do wonders for overall speed in basic tasks like web browsing.

My IdeaPad 1 15IGL7 has no replaceable memory either .. 4GB is it!! Looks like the disk is also not upgradeable.

Do you just take off the bottom screw to remove the SSD? That extender is weird looking, never seen one like that with the middle pin or whatever connecting it to the actual SSD. Thanks.

that adapter is for the Smaller Size M2 module, they come in 3 differnt sizes,, that is for the shortest thats the 2242 module, the next bigger is the 2260 model,, and the longest which would cover the whole length and just need a screw not that adapter is the 2280 size ,, If you want to see the differences just google M.2 Drive Sizes and you ll see . Hope that helps

Cpu is soldered on the Motherboard, not an interchangable socket like a desktop or other laptops that may have that ,, Most of the newer ones by most manufacturers are now all soldered on the board

Mine is the same exact model but the memory is soldered. It has two holes like for screws, but doesn't have the bracket to hold a card. Can I still upgrade it? Is it possible to find the bracket and installed it?

that bracket is just for 2242 size, if you want to upgrade it, you must replace the old SSD, you don't need bracket if your ssd size is 2280

Yor answer is nothing to do with what was asked. Mine to is the same modal but there is nothing to plug any ram in. The dark gray strip that you plugged ram into is not there.

Mi error fue no mirar que al final mi laptop termina con una "i" entonces el disco duro y la memoria ram vienen soldados a la placa madre y no tiene espacio o puertos para hacer el upgrade

man, the video confuses me. Does it have double ram memory slot or just one? Second, until when is the maximum RAM that I can expand (in the video you put 8GB but in the comments you say that it is possible up to 16GB). And because the model I want to buy, despite being the same as the one in the video (Ideapad 1 14IGL7), comes with 64GB of storage and says 4GB DDR4-2400 but soldered. Is it wrong or maybe I won't even be able to expand the components?

The minimum RAM slots is 2, as one is soldered you can use the other to expand with an 8GB or 16GB stick, the maximum GB RAM for the IdeaPad 1 is 24GB (when the 8GB option is available)
