I just bought this, it took about 1 month for it to turn up. Since I'm not able to plug the brick in till tomorrow, I thought I would try connecting the laptop to my high charge USB c charger via the port on the back. I left it a few hours but it did nothing. I once again pressed the power button with zero result and it occurred to me that pretty much all battery powered electronics I've bought arrived with a decent charge yet pressing the power button now fails to show any signs of life. I REALLY Hope this isn't faulty from the outset

In your opinion, will Lenovo release a 2-in-1 yoga model with rtx gpus? Because the regular yoga (not 2-in-1) with rtx 4050 is out for sale now, But somehow if you want a 2-in-1 machine, you're stuck with intel igpu :(

Complete nonsense the performance difference between the 4070 vs 4080, what is an even bigger nonsense is the pricing in US vs EU. 16" QHD laptops over here with 13th gen cpu 4080 are way above 3000EUR. It is outrageous. 2500-3000EUR you get max a 4070 with 13th gen cpu, but most of the last year's i9s with 3070ti or 3080 are going almost the exact same price or just a bit below that.

I agree the price difference is crazy between US and EU regions, but I suppose you have to consider other aspects of life too (e.g. third level education in the US will cost you $$$). I got my Legion 7i 4080 with 32GB and 1TB ssd plus 2 years on site warranty for €2550 which was a complete no-brainer. Lenovo have regular sales, keep an eye out for them or get an educational discount if you can.

@@rossdev Edu discount is not an option unfortunately, I'm thinking on picking up 7 pro i9 4080 with 512gb 16gb ram for 2753€. That's the cheapest posssible way with now 10% discount. 16gb of ram still enough, and I can buy a kit later around a 100-130€ or a bigger SSD, but it's okay for now, still have the i9 and the 4080. That's the best option now with having some flexibility for later... still better than a 4070 5 pro for 2350€. Better build quality, thunderbolt, metal bottom cover. And 4080 at least gives a proper uplift from last gen. 4070 is a frickin' joke for that kinda money.

@@Renato.P Yes not worth paying that kind of money for a 4070. Occasionally Lenovo have flash sales, at Easter time they had 15% off iirc (or 23% with edu discount) the 7i 4080. I upgraded from a 2 year old Legion 7i with 3080 and 11th gen HK cpu. That was a great laptop but the CPU/GPU in the new one are just incredible by comparison.

@@rossdev I would like to have something for June, as SF6 releases and my old lenovo y50-70 will not cut it.. I'm checking daily when to pull the trigger on it, I kinda settled on the 4080 already, better futureproofing and don't leave performance on the table for this money. :)

@@Renato.P Still a great price to be honest, it's the best value 4080 to be had (in the EU at least) and will last you a long time. I bought mine without Windows 11 OS and saved €100

I’m waiting for the mini led model that’s out in china right now. Standard pro 7 with zen 4 and mini led with 4090 and it’s the champion yet again. I like the late night drop of video cheers.

I got last year model legion slim 7 with i7, 3070, 16g and 512g for $1100. I think it’s a better deal. Half the price maybe 10% less performance.
