Dead CMOS battery, some laptops will charge most older one's it's disposable. To find out leave it on charge for a few hours say 3, remove the primary battery when it states full. Disconnect charger, re-connect the charger without primary battery no beeps it's rechargeable.

4 or 5 months lack of use, cmos battery dead, I've got a few old laptops that either use the CMOS battery or the primary battery for system. My really old HP Pavilion ZV5000 uses the CMOS battery and guess what, it's buried deep inside of it so not tearing it down and replacing thermal paste every time. Lol you've reset the bios and the laptop is confused, it has to retrain ram etc, be patient. You disconnect any bios battery it has to retrain everything.

I didnt look at the time but sometimes there is a jumper you can move to competly reset the bios, sometimes just removing the bios battery would also just reset it.

@Pixel_Fix I reset cmos and found an article that if you bridge 2 legs of the bios chip while turning on it can bypass the password and get you into the bios, neither worked haha. Options I have is reflash bios chips but struggling to find correct bios or new mobo off ebay for about 30 quid, I only use the laptop now for automotive software vcds, Haynes etc

@@matthewmaidment8464 Sometimes they are also points on the MB you can bridge if I get a chance il look into it as its probably an issue il come across at some point. Its annoying as you have a perfectly good laptop unusable due to a password, I'm guessing you've tried all the obvious types of password like 0000 1234 etc

@@Pixel_Fix yeh tried allsorta of password combinations even though it's e waste and redundant I haven't connected it to Internet because they have an additional hidden WiFi network for remote access and don't want it bricked in any way or any issues, it's a legitimate item just I'm paranoid haha
