I own a T14 Gen 2, I7 11gen with 48GB of ram, an amazing machine!

Is T14 Gen 2 still going strong? hows the battery life?
@adequatequality2 ай бұрын
For as much as the ThinkPad T series used to be a bang for the buck in terms of longevity and reliability, I've had too many QC issues with the most recent models from faulty WiFi cards, bluetooth/speaker buzzing, and a degradation in build quality. Not to mention, Lenovo STILL starts their base level storage at 256GB and a 45% NTSC screen...definitely not worth the money anymore imo

For the same price Asus vivobook s14 with lunar lake processors looks good, be it display, built quality.

i feel the same.. for me the bigger issue with thinkpads has always been the small battery size

You are not the market for the T series. As a business owner why would my employees need a more expensive screen when the stock one functions?

i do personally love the new redesign, and i feel like lenovo has returned to the t470/480 design internally and with the build, at least somewhat, and have taken some styling/design cues from the t60/61/400 era. but my big gripe is the keyboard. the fn and ctrl switch is fine, i can easily adjust. it's just that recent thinkpads of the past 6 or so years have had keyboards with keytravel that's too shallow and a lack of the tactility found in older keyboards. is this really "the best keyboard in the business" that reviewers love to tout? have standards really dropped this low?

Which has better life battery between t14 gen 5 and the p14s gen 5? They seem to have the same components

P14s Gen 5 if you’re customising it will be killer

What do you think of the IdeaPad Slim 5i 14 for day to day office work?
@SoulOfTech2 ай бұрын
If you do not need the extra build quality and/or virtualization features the 5i is a good consumer grade business machine.

Thanks a lot for this excellent review. As i am planning to purchase the P14s Gen 5 AMD version with 64 GB ram, can you please review specially for creative tasks like video editing and motion graphics? Thanks!
@SoulOfTech2 ай бұрын
I would advise getting a variant with discrete graphics to ensure you have the highest quality workflow possible.

Does the laptop have Thunderbolt 4 or USB 4 ?
@MwilaWamz2 ай бұрын
Thunderbolt
@dareemmanuel60792 ай бұрын
'Technically', just USB4. Amd doesn't have thunderbolt... thunderbolt is owned by Intel.
@SoulOfTech2 ай бұрын
It does not have TB4, however for all intents and purposes it has USB4 which shares the same protocols as TB4.

am i the only one who finds design, particularly the camera part of the laptop to be so ugly? might be a dealbreaker for me.

Nice review. T14 Gen 5 in Asia, you get 2240x1400 LCD panel option and WIFI 7 card option! too bad only 52wh battery. i wish it was at least 65wh.

Plastic everything. That’s a downgrade no matter how sturdy it is.
@drewmfie28 күн бұрын
i mean, the magnesium + plastic alloy that they used for the outer shell only lasted from the t490 to the t14 g4. for the rest of the thinkpad t series' history its always been plastic. yeah its a downgrade, but as somebody who primary owns older thinkpads (t61, all the way to t480), i do not care as long as they keep the inner magnesium frame/roll cage (it's what actually gives the laptop most of its rigidity and durability).
@JogieGlenMait1628 күн бұрын
@@drewmfie yeah, that's a great point. i use multiple thinkpads too and even the full plastic ones are just well built.
