Not sure about you mean by the backlight being off when you wake other ThinkPads from sleep, my T480 and T470s act the same as your X1YG7

I used to own a P14s Gen 3, and also used to use use a T14s Gen 2 for work, and my mother uses a T495s for her laptop, and each time if you turn the keyboard backlight on, and then put the laptop to sleep, it will not turn back on. You have to turn it on manually each time you want to use it. I’ve also noticed the same thing happen on our X1 Titanium laptops at work as well. The X1 Yoga Gen 7, and the X1 Carbon Gen 10s we also have at work don’t do this, they will turn back on when resuming from sleep. Not sure why these new ones behave differently than every other ThinkPad I’ve used in the past.

@@JackStavris I'm stuck choosing between the T16 Gen 2 and the P16s Gen 2 because I believe they are very similar and almost identical. However, the T16 Gen 2 is more expensive. What sets the "T" series apart? Even though the P16s Gen 2 is slightly cheaper, it is ISV-certified. PS: I prefer AMD

@@tingining69 I had this same question when I was choosing between my P14s Gen 3 and a T14 Gen 3 last year. As far as I can tell, they're identical except on the Intel variants you get an Nvidia Quadro GPU on the P-series models, and just standard graphics on the T-series, though I don't know if there's much difference with the AMD variant as both use the integrated Radeon GPU as far as I know, though I may be wrong. I'd just go with a T16 Gen 2 with an AMD processor, though call Lenovo sales if you're buying new as you could get a discount on the P-series, that's how I ended up with my P14s Gen 3 as the sales rep made me a deal so I could get the P14s for the same price as an equivalent T14, but your experience may vary.
