I have a p7 with the w7-3445 cpu (20core/40thread) you can run it 100% 24/7 and CPU stays under 64c all day long all night long without a hiccup. The cooling solutions they use is rock solid. I would imagine same for P3. These are real working machines, not RGB gaming machines.

RGB gaming laptops come with faster gpus and lcd screens so the market Lenovo targets with these workstations is really niche to say the least

Thank you for the video was really interesting in seeing what sort of expansion slots their Ultra used, both front and back.. I particularly love the tiny formfactor and the fact it's user serviceable with of the shelf parts. I'm debating on buying their base model as I'm gonna use it for crunching video data. Drop in my own CPU, addon cards and customise it for my own purpose. Planning on running Linux as my choosen OS.

Hello, thank you for the impressive presentation. I have one question: Can you tell me something about the volume of the fan? I am interested in the computer for creative applications such as photo and music editing. For this I need a small, powerful but quiet computer. ;-)

I am honestly thinking of using this as a Gaming Pc at 1080 with the RTX 4000 Ada I would imagine can handle anything at any resolution. I want to go with Lenovo as they offer onsite service if a problem and this is the smallest prebuilt of any of the large companies.. .any issues with this plan i am willing to spend the extra cash for the portability like going internationally.

i just got a p3 ultra with a mere i5 13600, one ssd, one stick of 16gb or ram, no gpu… and im getting throttling when doing heavy tasks. theres no way an i7 or i9 dont get throttled. also, doesnt i9 come with two fans so no double slot gpu is possible to install? oh, you got the T version, i was thinking of full fledged i9, let alone K version. those come with two fans and no double slot gpu is possible to install. how are your temps? my 13600 gets to 90 when it turbos, then drops frequency and drops below 80c. i did get mine with 3 year warranty, and i extended it to 5 with my supplier (did not order directly from lenovo), and with a 230w psu i paid roughly around 850$. i saved probably around 200$ then ordering directly from lenovo. will be upgrading to dedicated gpu, but am not ready to dish 700$ for a2000 ada. t1000 will have to be and more ram. anyways, if you see this comment let me know about cpu temps. my thing ramps up and sounds like a jet engine… lol… ssd is far from cool, same goes for ram. thanks, cheers. subbed.

Is it noisy during normal use? I mean during surfing and KZbin? I always had the Tiny versions and now thinking to jump into ultra version but a bit concerned about noise.. I can't decide to order the P3 Tiny or P3 ultra.

Idle it's quiet, but if you start doing anything that uses the GPU or kick off some background task that uses a bunch of resources and the fans kick up decently loud. It's somewhat annoying to be honest, but since I mounted mine decently under the desk I doesn't bother me as much as it would if above desk. There are some BIOS settings to reduce the fan noise that I haven't played with. I read in nvidia driver release notes of an ongoing issue where all adapters cant enter low power mode when multi-displays connected. I may try moving 2 of my displays to the integrated intel graphics and see if fans or temperature reduces. It definitely doesn't heat up the room like tower normally does.

...but like right now I'm using 30GB of RAM with 15 apps open, some heavy apps, 2 browsers with 20 tabs each and it's almost silent. However, If I start a single youtube video the fans will kick up decently loud.

Thanks for the video. You said you ordered P3 with dual port nic in case this extra pcie slot needs a raiser as you planned to use the mellanox instead. Did it worked out? I’m asking because this extra pcie slot is x4 while the mellanox is x8. I guess mellanox didn’t get there in the end.

hello @jasonIstre, first off, i wanna say thank you for this video, very helpful....question: I made a custom order a couple of weeks ago and I'm wondering how long it took you to get the order shipped?
@jasonistre
@jasonistre 10 ай бұрын
Hi @wsaffar2002, I cant remember exactly, but I think mine was about 2 weeks from placement to delivery. It was a custom order as well. It was through a reseller/distributor rather than direct/website order, but I’m not sure if that matters.

Lenovo sells a power cable kit so that you can run a low profile GPU that requires additional power above the 75W the PCIe rail. Can you confirm the white connection toward the back of the PCIe rail is that connection source?

I saw in another comment that this was a custom, did you have the USB card selected? I notice that it is off as a factory default. I am looking to order one and want to make sure I get the ports.

Great looking and well engineered. But way out of my budget. I slapped an A2000 (NOS on Amazon before prices got silly) into an EliteDesk SFF 800 G4 with everything totaling $550.

this configuration specifically around $4000-4600, a reseller or direct sales rep can usually get a special bid lower if you have an exact configuration request

Should be as long as you use a 13th Gen Intel. Might void your warranty, but they sell this unit with i3,i5,i7,i9 cpus of normal, T, and K. Note that a K model CPU like 13900K or 13700K doesnt support addon graphics pcie adapter probably due to power and thermal limitations.

probably you can, but beware of the psu. if you buy p3 ultra with a 170w psu and an i5 13600 and you want to swap with an i9, then 170w might not, definitely will not be enough. so, if youre buying p3 with a lower end cpu, but plan on upgrading cpu (or gpu if you go with t400/t1000) be sure to select the 300w psu. its like 80$ difference.

For all the $$$ you have wrapped up in fancy hardware, why cant you buy a camera that doesn't alter perspective when you rotate an item you're showing off? The visuals are terrible. I cant tell if this thing is square or nearly square. You describe it as small but there is no way to actually visualize it because it changes size as you move it around. Also, my friend suggests mounting the camera true to the table surface.

I can see just fine. Just cut him some slack, dude. Not everyone starts out full-on professional; or wanna be, for that matter. And there’s this thing call “Google”, that shows you square, nearly square, round, or rectangle.
