I might be wrong here, but because you had tool in one hand and phone held up. The impact was causing the device to recoil. Hence the density or strength of the glass wasn't put to test entirely. What would have been great if you would have kept the device on table and tried the tools then. Just a suggestion.

the phone might've survived this test... but there are pressure zones at the screen edges that make it susceptible to cracks (forget scratches)... so if you're under the impression that gorilla glass is crack resistant, please change it.. it only is a measure of how scratch resistant your screen might be . . (speaking from experience)

Dek Mallari screen corners... the phone's body is cheap plastic... so an impact at the body's contact with the screen can shatter it (that's what happened with mine)

I like to congratulate the person who made this video. Because i have the same phone and it had fallen only once from my pocket. That itself was enough for breaking the screen. Yes it was really good but as the previous comments say you should drop it frm your hand or else throw it. I am sure no one will beat a hammer or screw the phone but phone slipping down is most probable and i think no gorilla glass can resist that as i know
