This one has 71whr, 99.9whr is for the 12700h model which I own. I don’t game or do any video editing so I have the a370m disabled at all times. Getting around 10 hours for c++ programming and watching videos at 75% brightness. Very satisfied.

I just picked up this last night from Best Buy for $899, it's looking great. I use it for work and needed something with pen support. Upgraded from an old Yoga 730 that was still working great after a few years of use.

Ed, thank you for this unboxing. If I could make a suggestion, Is there a way you could unclutter your unboxing area and try a much lighter set and table? The area is always very dark, and very difficult to see. In your testing for the full review, could you test the temperature of the unit under load? My Yoga 9 series laptop from 2021 is always very warm to hot under load. The price, as of the 9th of July is a penny under $1K, at Best Buy. Thanks for your work on the channel. Stay Safe!

It's the Arctic Grey .... From what I have seen, the i5, 8GB, 256GB model at Best Buy comes in the darker Storm Grey. Disappointing because I like the darker color better

I really feel like if your gonna spend about a hundred dollars more for the intel arc a370m, instead of the intel iris(r) xe graphics alone it's worth it. As it really boosts the performance. In an instance when trying shaders in minecraft I experienced 16 fps average with the bsl edit pack using the regular gpu. But with the dgpu I got a playable 67 fps average with the same shaders. It is worth it.

@@italktoomuch When I am consuming content such as netflix I get a solid 8 - 9 hours. But when I am gaming with the gpu I get around 4 hours. It's a great buy as it is on sale on Lenovo's site.

@@dragonballz641 If you go in settings and type graphics you will reach a place where you can change the performance level of your graphics. To activate the dgpu just set it as high performance. But before that you probably will need to add the app.

I recently purchased a 2022 Lenovo Yoga 7i 16, model number 82QG0000US. This new model shows "Use HDR" not supported. "Play streaming HDR video" supported, under the display settings. Curious why Use HDR isn't supported? I had an older Lenovo model 82BJ0003US and that one supported both. You could see an HDR choice listed in settings on KZbin videos played through Edge. Thank you.

Try messing with the settings. I have a Samsung 360 and you have to change power modes and other settings to be able to use hdr. Then some more stuff to use it on battery power. Assume you can do it too but HDR is a battery hog so they make you do extra stuff to be able to use it.

@@tywanjames4427 I finally found out from Lenovo that they went strictly to Dolby Vision and no HDR on the new Yoga. I'm noticing that there is more support for Dolby Vision now. HBO/MAX and Amazon Prime Video are starting to have more Dolby Vision content. Netflix has a lot of DV movies and shows. I made my peace with it. Lol. I just like having everything available.

I use this laptop as my home computer. It's always sitting at my desk and I don't use it outside my home at all. So if I leave it plugged in with power cord all the time, would that make the battery "die" much sooner than it supposed to be? Do I need to unplug it? If yes, how often do I have to do that? What would you suggest users like me to do?

Any thoughts how this compares to the Gram 16 2 in 1? I like this has extra ports but Gram is lighter and matte screen. Does this one have the camera face login? Any other thoughts on which to go with if both are the same price?

I want to ask all existing Yoga owners, how may times you used stylus in tablet mode? Or enjoyed tablet mode as much as any android / iPad tablet? I never in three years of owning Yoga!!! Reason: it simply does not feel as tablet. Why? Many reasons: 1. Main thing is going back and forth in tablet and laptop mode is simply not smooth. Simply put, Yoga fold is not as natural as detachable keyboards. Folding is more involves than detaching. 2. The heating (actually overheating) of machine is very much not tablet like (by tablet I mean Android tablets or iPad) 3. One can / should be able use tablets at least for a day without charging. (Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus goes for at least 5 days without charging if not used and at least a day with moderate media consumption) 4. Folded thickness is really not tablet like. That is why detached keyboards feels more like tablets. 5. I did not find any good note taking app optimized for stylus on Windows. (Please watch some Samsung Notes videos to get the idea what I mean.) 6. UI/UX of Windows is just ok in tablet mode, its definitely fully optimized for touch. It still feels like doing compromises. Points 2 and 3 are simply not the cases with at least past Yoga devices. I dont know if 12th gen processors changes this. But, a thick poor battery-life overheating slate with just screen at the top does not really certify as tablet... Windows OEMs need to understand this!!! And more importantly Intel and Microsoft too.... PS: I am big Windows guy, being using Windows for at least 15 years and still wish Windows Phones will someday find light ...

I'm more of a niche case, but I will be using my Yoga 7i 16 primarily in tablet mode. For a few years now, I've had an ipad mounted via a clamp above my piano and synthesizer keyboards. I use the ipad to display sheet music, play youtube videos of songs I'm learning, and to operate software synths. It's been a great experience, and now I wish to further that by having a larger tablet with Windows music programs available. The larger Yoga should really open up my workflow. I will even extend the Yoga desktop onto another similarly clamp-mounted portable touch display. Yes, that's right, 3 touch tablets total -- ipad, yoga, and extra touch display for the Yoga. And all at eye-level and close within reach as I move hands from piano keys to touchscreen, back and forth, seamlessly and intuitively. Regarding your issues with a Yoga as a tablet -- 1. Switching between table and laptop mode. Most of the time my Yoga will live in that clamp above my keyboards. On occasion, I'll probably remove it to recline in a chair with the Yoga in tablet mode. For your issue, might I suggest a wireless keyboard for occasional and quick typing input, so you don't have to flip the Yoga keyboard around as much. (Either that or get a Surface Pro.) 2. Heating. Thanks for the head's up. Bearing this in mind, I'll likely cock the Yoga keyboard out slightly from its display when in tablet mode. 3. Battery life. See #1 above. Still, I prefer very dim lighting, so keeping brightness down will help. I'll probably also use the lower performance mode when consuming and not producing.. The 12th gen additional efficiency cores should help here. And being Evo certified means strict requirements on battery life too. 4. I have an ipad as my primary tablet for consumption (surfing internet, watching videos, playing puzzle games, etc). Sounds like your Samsung tablet should remain your priority. 5. I will be researching note-taking apps thoroughly. I take a lot of notes for work, and I'm still using paper and pen for that. That is proving cumbersome and inefficient. We also use OneNote a lot, so a main requirement of my note-taking app will be excellent handwriting-to-text recognition, so my notes can be imported and organized into OneNote. 6. The touch UI of Windows is a primary reason for going with a 2-in-1. My primary DAW (digital audio workstation) will be Bitwig, which is designed with touch in mind. I think touch is much more intuitive and immediate. I can't stand using a mouse for moving virtual knobs and faders, it breaks my flow when in a musical zone. One more point --- ports. I'm really excited this Yoga 7i has headphone jack, HDMI, 2 USB-A, and 2 USB-C / thunderbolt ports (SD card is nice, but I dont' do video editing yet). I'll be using multiple displays, thunderbolt audio interface, and a couple USB peripherals as well (breath controller, MIDI router, etc). No ipad has this much connectivity. And it all fits nicely in a backpack. I know many laptop producers already do this, I'm joining the movement late, but with a priority on touch capability. HTH with another perspective.
