You can up the performance even more by putting a two fan laptop cooler under your unit and plug in - the increase is substantial - a youtube video with two gents freezing their laptops for ten min. and then bench testing them - the result is - that the laptops are allowed more efficiency the cooler their surface temperature is - new mfg standard of 45C - so throttling occurs. Per their tests - so I got my cooler out and tried it - sure enough on cpux and cpud their where measured differences in the positivve when compaired to other online official scores. Much closer to the M3, except gpu of course. Really liking my 7x - plan to dual boot it soon enough.

A bit off topic: why at some point manufacturers started using the wide angle webcam? From what I've seen in the video, Lenovo does it too. I cannot comfortably use built-in webcam on my HP laptop because even at normal user to screen distance it captures a half of the room behind me. Had to stick with an external one from Logitech.

Very tempted to buy this laptop later this year, but the compatibility issues give me pause. There are key programmes I'd really need to run, which currently aren't supported. Think I'll wait until November, and if the situation hasn't improved, maybe just delay and reconsider sometime in 2025.

I was after this but the screen reflectivity put me off. I have an XPS 15 OLED with Dell's anti reflective coating and love it. I just picked up an s24 ultra & find it hard to even look at other phones now so screens need a proper coating for me. Appreciate you mentioning that in your reviews.

70 watt hours? how long does the battery last when no plugged in? my nitro 5 lasts like 1 to 2 hours, great high powered laptop that lacks storage space and battery life, but it was a budget laptop. there is ALOT of times i want to go out doors make phone calls in the park so i am not bothering my roommates. and a laptop is still best experience over tablets and phones for me as far as productivity, i use those more as extentions like i use my phone for speechify. but it would be nice to have a laptop that can last 70 hours while not plugged in.

70 watt hours is probably the biggest battery for the snapdragon laptop. You’ll easily get 10 hours in recommended mode

After the release of the Ryzen 9 HX 370 it makes no sense to buy such an architecture as it has several issues: - Qualcomm has a bad GPU - didn’t work enough with Microsoft AND software developers to assure compatibility. ATM lots of apps detect that it isn’t x86 and don’t run or DRM software won’t run at all. That is enough bad to not consider ARM at the moment.

I don't (yet) own any of these, but I was checking them in a shop, and I think the build quality is way inferior to the Surface Laptop 7, and the touchpad is disgusting 🙈 Maybe I'm becoming an elitist, but I truly don't want to ever again buy a laptop with diving board touchpad... it feels horrible, and it's really bad that the amount of force required differs a lot based on the region. I hope in a year or two manufacturers will consider it obsolete for all product categories except the cheapest. I just checked, and in Europe (or at least Germany), you actually cannot buy this Lenovo with 32GB RAM. The page has a "configure now" button, and then it proceeds to show a long list of components with a SINGLE selection, i.e. no configurability. And the price is 1400 euros.

I know I'm the odd one out here, but actually physically 'clicking' a touchpad seems so; violent, when you only need light taps that don't move it at all. Windows has settings for 1-4 finger taps so you have left, right and middle click anywhere on the touchpad. BTW my 7x was £1216 in the UK with 32GB + 1TB using one of Lenovo's regular voucher offers.

I have this laptop and it is a fantastic computer. And it feels very well made and not at all flimsy or inferior in build quality.

Very few software are not running. I have the galaxybook 4 edge for 3 weeks and it's by far the best laptop I ever own. 200x better than my framework AMD and my previous LG Gram. The only software I tried that's not working is Chris Titus debloat script.

It's not mediocre in real world use, the very opposite. Super smooth and responsive. I've never seen something open Visual Studio and large solutions as fast.

Samsung already offering $350 off at BestBuy suggesting poor sales and according to some leaks, lots of returns meaning you can get $450 off a Book4Edge 16-inch if you buy a refurbished (return). This ties in with many people’s experience, as you say. People that have no specific needs will be fine, but I had a list of 30 or so issues with software and hardware so there are compatibility issues. I returned my Surface Pro 11. It simply did not come close to battery life claimed by sponsored reviews.
