It’s a shame that so much of this historical, influential, and generally beautiful city filled with some if not most of the world’s best art & architecture has been lost. Like so many other ancient centers of the world, it actually frustrates me that humans couldn’t find a way to avoid destroying our ingenious past & history. Just losing even one of these miraculous structures is a travesty to not only Italian / Roman culture. It’s actually a loss to all of humanity. At least we have these amazing modern graphics engineers to give us a glimpse through simulation.

As Augustus once said, if you want a rainbow, you have to deal with the rain. The empire was also founded with blood and unfortunately ransacked givig her a taste of her own medicine

This truly is beautiful. I just wish these cities had still been here today, such a shame we, humans, weren't able to preserve such beauty

A day would be great. I'd love it. I have a feeling that a modern person would have a very hard time living there for any length of time.

Amazing! I study classics and history and this is very impressive…keep up that quality and your channel will be big in no time! I especially loved the richly painted pedimental sculptures and slightly crooked roofs of some buildings.

This was depicted brilliantly in HBO’s ‘Rome’ with the exception that the forum looked as it should during Caesar’s rein. All practical sets and structures with very limited CGI.😎

Thank you Roberto, we will publish more sceneries here regularly. In addition to other locations and eras, we have many more films about Rome in the works. In each one we will focus on one area of the city. These will then be organized in playlists

At least an addition a small map with an arrow indicating which direction the video is facing would be a huge advantage!!! The current video is nice but is lacking in many ways! Therefore an actual 3D walk through in the way of Google Earth's Street View would be the best way to experience Ancient Rome!

Wonderful - VERY immersive and evocative with the audio (though the background music may not be needed). More perspectives would be great. And, even better, a 360 degree view where we can move the camera as you see with youtube 360 degree videos or google streetview.

So, here’s an interesting question; Was it really this crowded? Obviously, adding people to the model makes it “come alive,” but what level of crowding was there and was the number of people dependent on certain times of day? Sure, at 03:30 it would have been empty…or was it? According to an ancient source there was a lot of traffic at night and people had trouble sleeping because of the noise. Also, was it really this noisy? New York is noisy because of machinery but most people aren’t talking while they are walking. My guess is that it was a lot more quiet in terms of human noise and more noisy in terms of carts, blacksmith hammers, carpenter hammers, and a news reader (whose job was to make announcements several times a day, which were written down by slaves and then read to their masters once they ran back home.)

Looks amazing! However, have you considered making a smaller Capitoline temple? Kaderka and Tucci (2021) have argued quite persuasively that a colossal Temple of Jupiter was highly implausible. There is no consensus yet, but I'm convinced this will become the most widely accepted option in the future, although I much preferred the aspect of the colossal temple :/

Thank you very much! Our photograph shows the state after the reconstruction by Emperor Domitian. The fact that the roof and doors were gilded and that the cost of the gilding alone amounted to 12,000 talents of silver underlines the central importance and magnificent character of the temple for the Roman Empire. Especially in the context of a personality like Domitian
