So I must say that I play A LOT of bird videos to entertain my cat, but this one especially captures her attention. I think it’s the birds flapping their wings. She was getting bored with the other videos, but this one is a winner in her book. I enjoy watching it too. Thanks for producing and sharing it!!

That's great to hear. I notice my birdbath videos don't seem to get too much attention on KZbin but they are way more fun to make! I'm filming one right now, but the birds are taking a long time to get used to the new fountain...

@@LensMyth I have the SAME story!! My cat is mesmerized. I wish it were longer... She gets anxiety when I leave the apartment, and if this were a couple of hours long, she'd stay calm
@LensMyth3 жыл бұрын
I know I wish it was longer too, since it was new there just wasn't too much activity at first. I use the Loop option on KZbin to keep any video playing over and over, it works really well, harder to find on TVs than on your phone or computer but it's there! (But I'm working on a 4th birdbath video in the coming weeks that'll be longer)

My cats love your videos so much. They are each a little over a year old. Where do you live that you have so many beautiful different birds stopping by???!! If they are staged, thats fine too. Thank you so much for making these!
@LensMyth3 жыл бұрын
I'm out in Columbia SC for the most part. Oh my gosh if I knew how to stage this I would make videos about how to do that instead! But it does require a lot of time and patience, and apparently living at the edge of a wooded area helps

That is a female Summer Tanager that lands on the birdbath at 5:56, and an adult male Summer Tanager drops by at 19:53. I live in the same region as you, so I can tell you that you can expect more than 50 species to visit your back yard. This birdbath is your best chance to see all of them. Spring is the best time of year to see migrant species.

Love this video ! All I have to say to my cat is “ Sophie ,come see your bird 🐦 video “ and you know what? She goes to her spot and waits for me to put it on! 😺 🐈. Thank you 🐈

I love that! I'm happy to see the birdbath videos are as interesting to Sophie as they are to me, I think it's so funny when they get in there and splash around.

Well, here I am on yet another of your videos, and yet again, I am ASTONISHED at the variety of birds I'm seeing on your channel. Now, as I said in another place, I'm no ornithologist, but just off the top of my head I would say that I've seen at least fifteen different types of birds in your videos . . . if I weren't sure you weren't I'd probably accuse you of running a zoo . . . and now, a pair of what I would venture were turtledoves, even though I have no idea what a turtledove looks like. Then there was the yellow bird I saw earlier in this video. Where are all these birds coming from? How come the red birds (I'm guessing they're cardinals, but again, I have no idea why I think that) aren't in this video? And even the sparrows look like they're on steroids, looking like they're almost twice the size of the pathetic little creatures we have here in Montreal. I must just say-I'm not an ornithologist, but if I lived where you did I'd sure as hell become one. (Oh, Jesus-and now an incredible mother-of-pearl-blue oyster bird!)
@LensMyth3 жыл бұрын
There's been a new type of bird coming by each week or two. I've looked them all up and so far there's only about 3 more that I can expect to pass through at some point, but I mean this is plenty! Those were Mourning Doves they seem to always be in pairs as well. You're right the red Cardinals were not interested in this fountain, they were everywhere else in the yard, but only peeked in for a moment. Haha, you mean the blue birds? They are very timid and never really even eat from the feeders but they aren't shy about this public bath! Maybe it's because those aggressive cardinals aren't around?

Wonderful!! I’m looking for the cement portion of your bird bath. I used to have a bird bath on a fountain and many Sunday mornings five to ten sparrows would bathe at once! But it broke and I’m finding it hard to find this top portion of yours.
@LensMyth3 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I don't know if you can tell but I made this with an old cast iron pan that I poured cement into, and when it dried I drilled a lil hole for the pump tube. Of course I have a lot of building material laying around....

Wonderful footage! Out of curiosity - What kind of bird is at 21:16? Thank you!
@LensMyth3 жыл бұрын
I believe that's the Male Summer Tannager in the red, followed by the Female in yellow. They dont visit my feeders just a couple feet away but I see them swooping across the yard to get to the bath!
