That guitar used to belong to Irosh jazz player Louis Stewart. He brang the guitar to uk luthier Dick Knight to add a cutuway florentine style like Gibson had in the mid 60s

What do you think of Levin Deluxes? Are they equivalent to Emperors/Super 400s in quality?

I think at low volume it s as qualitative, but levins tend to distord and get less cool if you dig super hard. But they are great axe for the bucks. This one is suuper woody, and at low volume can get something veeeery beautiful, different than gibson and epi, but every bit as good

@@M_Scaife i did a full acoustic big band clash bw the levin and the 39 epi emperor, and they both cuted nicely but the levin felt a bit dry and harsh when they epi felt sweeter and merged better with the cool sonic envelope of the other instruments

@@AcousticStandards Interesting. Normally you hear of Epiphones being the harsh ones when compared to the Gibson tone (although you've tried far more than me!)
