The previous record for an 18yr old defender was Bastoni at €31m and Saliba at €30m, they both had 12 months left on their contracts, and they needed 2-3 years on loan until they were ready because CB is not a position for teenagers at the very top level (title challenging teams). Player's potential is also dependent on what environment they will find themselves in. Yoro going to Utd at the moment with the pressure he might be a regular starter in the hardest league is not the same as going to the best club in the world with quality in every position and you are guaranteed success every year. Look what they are doing with Guler, how they worked Tchoumeni, Camavinga, Valverded, Vini and so on into the team. He might work out for Utd or Utd can be a stepping stone to move to Madrid in 4-5 years, same as Ronaldo.
