Lokesh successfully played with the audience's perceptions and beliefs in crafting the film. The initial appeal and connections to 'A History of Violence' created a satisfying cinematic experience that met my expectations. Despite the sense of unease and perceived narrative flaws, my willingness to delve into the script and rationalize these aspects as intentional choices speaks to the film's ability to provoke thoughtful contemplation. The film's exploration of belief, both individual and collective, in shaping our reality is a fascinating aspect. Your choice to accept the narrative as a subjective truth without conducting research underscores the power of the film in influencing personal interpretation. It's intriguing to consider whether Lokesh deliberately aimed to encourage viewers to interpret the film as a reflection of their own reality. If so, it seems he successfully tested the boundaries of audience perception, generating a unique and thought-provoking response. This kind of engagement not only resonates with fans but potentially extends to a broader audience, creating a lasting impact on those who experience the film. I am not explicitly supporting Lokesh, but this is my perspective on his films. Whether his films are top-notch or not, my approach to viewing them emphasizes the significance of perspective. Even seemingly inferior films can appear good to me because I typically view most films without specific expectations. In my view, expectations can hinder the enjoyment of a film. Maybe even for covering mistakes, yes, it's possible. But as he is going to make his next film, and criticism helps in changing, if his next film follows the same pattern, it's likely to be successful as well. That's the truth, and I will describe it as overhype. Also, I will not consider the film under a universe; just characters from the previous film making a cameo or crossover, which may or may not change or impact the plot. A similar situation occurred while watching 'Jawaan Jailer,' where Atlee took inspiration and made his movie 'Jawan.' Likewise, Nelson seemingly copied the jailer character from Vikram and was aware of Leo's plot, leading him to incorporate those elements. This is not hate or an accusation; it could have also happened, but I felt that since the movie looks like Vikram, and the climax of Leo looks similar, Lokesh might have trolled Nelson by suggesting he needs a cameo to make the film hit, while Lokesh doesn't need any cameo but a hyena is enough. I think the same happened with Baahubali and RRR; most of the elements were similar to Ponniyinselvan. I believe Rajamouli took most of the plot from it. So, everyone must have something in common which someone likes and someone doesn't. When someone presents something to you, you can either believe or reject it; it's fine. But the thing you tell influences me. It's like the choices can be true or may not be true. So, anything can happen, just like in the script of real life. People adapt themselves based on what they see, hear, or believe as truth. Thanks to your videos, I have realized that perspective matters and how it can impact others in everyday life. This realization is recent, and before watching, I felt this, but your videos have been an eye-opening experience. It should be me who decides whether it's good or bad, right or wrong, and not let someone else decide. However, there is doubt whether it will happen or not. Now and then, I am realizing how I see things are not always straightforward; it's like when someone tells some mistakes, then only I realize these flaws. Not only in movies, even in life, if someone tells bad, it looks bad, and if someone tells good, it looks good. I always have a doubt about my life, whether it's self-driven or not. It's manipulation of things I choose, which becomes my outcome because of what I see, hear, or believe as truth. I think people's talk and perspective affect my decisions and thoughts on things which cannot be controlled or changed.

Leo movie director and his peers just thought audience will accept whatever they tell.but it just backfired with heavy mixed reviews.I am Vijay and Lokesh fan. Despite of little disappointment in Master, i did had high expectations. But,why can't we have high expectations? How one can say watch without expectation when they kept on building them in 1st place like naa ready song, the glimpses of villains and all. Well made video. Hat's off brother.

I think you are approaching it in a certian way where it has to make sense to your line of understanding how "what a character is" and "how to write one", rather look at how a person like that character behaves. For example at 14:47 he is considtent with his priorities throughout the film what he loved the most was his sister and then his father and the buisiness/money, but his father and the drive for money came back to bite him by endangering his sister's life, which he priorisez more, which is when he realises what really matters to him and he will go against everything else. Thats the rational thinking there. And this is why later in his life he doesnt not want to get involved in his past life and the people in it, to erase things and so he womt loose another person thats close to him, but then that becomes the priority for him, tho he wants to protect his family and thats one of his top priority that in itself made not wanting to associate himself with his past for the rest of the movie his atmost priority, ever since he had to cross the line subconsciously. And yes it happens under a crisis subconsciously, which makes sense considering he tries to lie to himself, now you asked a good question like if he does that then he doesn't truly believe that himself. Good question, the constant need to lie to yourself says you dont believe it yet, yes. But he knows that, what he tries to acomplish by lying to himself is not to make himself belive, end goal is to make other believe. So its a constant battle of lying to yourself and living a double life and he made peace with living that way because that's what has been keeping his family safe, which was established in the very beginning with the hyena scene, he lives a double life and its nothing new to him. The character and the choices he has made, makes absolute sense to me. His prioriteis are set straight, he knows what he wants and what he has to acomplish without losing. The entire movie is a character description of Leo and how he plays the scene under circumstances while not lossing anything further while keeping everything intact when something bad happens. I think somehting like tthis is what Lokesh wrote and executed, your interpretation is fine but its based on half ass analysis, try thinking broader. I think Lokesh did a fantastic job with writing the leo character. A lot of people just arent able to understand the intent. So think again people.

Because we hype Lokesh to be the next big thing and renaissance director. Of course we'll not expect a movie like jailer from him. If we go to a mysskin movie, we expect a mysskin movie. I think that's ok to criticise them for losing sensibility that was present in their previous works. It's very difficult to view an artform separate from the artist even though that's what is ideal.

Lokesh cast big actors as villains, but our hero Vijay can defeat any villain at any time once he starts fighting. Lokesh showed the hero as overpowered and the villains as underpowered. The villains are no match for the hero in a fight. A good movie needs a great villain, but in this movie, the opposite happened. That's where Director Lokesh made the mistake."

There was one big miss i felt. The initial gang in coffee shop had no continuity so they had to do story telling again in middle and third time for leo in flashback. Causing the audience to come out of the flow in the movie. Lot of simple high making opportunity was missed. Like for instance the ending could have been Vikram sitting on the coffee Sofa. He immediately recognizes him with a smile. Leaving the audience thinking where is their link. Movie ending with Vikram music, in batman style with suspence. Such stuff is not happening as there is still no bigger story in place. We only have more charecters in Each LCU but no connection building. With some ground work it can be tied together like Avengers but not like a Prestige style movie. As a critique it is wrong for you to decide that all movie needs to have a rewatch scenario like Prestige. Who are you to decide that. We sometimes want over the top movies to foget wordly troubles. That is a bigger purpose than some odd critique with lot of time and money in hand to rewatch Good moviea and sooth his intellectual itch and then goes the distance to call the audience a conforming goat herd. Careful there buddy. Most of the times its the inteligent ones that are needing mental support than the ordinary mind. Learn to keep things simple in life. Atleat once in a while.
