Well, where do I begin? Surely Léo is the most versatile male dancer out there? This is just gorgeous! It's so rare that you find a male dancer who is watchable in his own right as a dancer and just as ornamental as the follower is while still retaining his role as leader. West Coast Swing as a thing is still relatively new to me (I only discovered it in 2024 but have been following it ever since) but I have not yet found anyone who approaches his flair and fluidity. As a viewer, certainly, it makes the experience of watching his dances compelling and so rich. If I were a dancer, I do not know whether another leader might be easier to work with but that would only be because they are predictable relative to Léo and perhaps that would be what you were looking for as a follower? You would certainly have to be "on your toes" to dance with Léo or he could make his follower look unimaginative! Or that could just be my lack of experience as a dancer talking... Great video, and such a joy to watch that I'm going to watch it again.

After watching Leo dance with people of various skill sets, my impression is that he manages to adapt to his partners quite nicely. Yeah, he can be a bit of a show-off, but he only really does so when he's confident about his dancing partner.

I don't know anything about dance or the technical side of wcs. As a spectator what matters to me is to be entertained, and Lélo is definitely a top entertainer. He has a rare cocktail of being both very technically skilled and creative at the same time, which makes the variations of dance nearly limitless. That's fun to watch, because you never know what will happen next.
