I recently had to move my elderly dad in with me while my aunt who is power of attorney over him, looks for assisted living for him to go into. My aunt had eye surgery so she can't take care of him right now. It's an emotional struggle for me because neither one of my parents were ever there for me. My dad was always moving around from state to state not thinking twice about me. I've been on my own since I was 17 and even before then he's never been a part of my life. But now I'm taking care of him at the moment because I know that's what God would want me to do.

Went through very similar situation, father was not really a father and met him at age 14.. My father did pass on, but the stress of it all is still affecting me, but it's less each day. Caretakers are not easy tasks.

I too took care of a parent financially for years . She passed six months ago . Even though I spent a lot of my retirement on her , I’ll never regret it . She needed to live out her days content . She was ever an emotional support for me but I loved her anyways .

Wow! I’m thinking of doing a basement room! My husband is milking his hip surgery for over a year and 6 months latter a knee replacement! I just don’t want to be used, I gave him a lot of help, all he had to do was sit! I’m thinking of leaving though in our 70’s it is hard. 1lb bison, chopped onion, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, dill, paprika, 1/3 cup of bread crumbs (i use gluten free) and one egg. Bake at 400 for about 12-14 minutes. i checked mine to make sure they didn't over cook
