In this case, it's no good because that kimchi bowl is communal one. I'm not sure about this place but some places will put big portion of kimchi in a bowl like that on each tables so people can serve themselves. So it's ideal to use serving utensil that's given with that bowl to put the amount of food you want in other plate and eat from there. I personally believe "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" because it's the part of charm in traveling different countries and your way of showing respect to the culture of the country you visit. However, any sensible people who has some knowledge about Indian food culture won't shame anyone for using fingers IF he/she use hands with foods on personal plate.

@@shama3554 I'm pretty sure he was doing that to protect his friends. This is an widely watched tv show. Many different types of people watch it. Most audiences will be very reasonable and understanding of different culture but there are always those who are ignorants and lack of understanding of cultural differences. And those people will criticize the shit out of people who behave differently from their ideas of "standard manner"; like the one in the clip, and I'm pretty sure Lucky just wanted to protect his friend from getting attack by those ignorant people.
