Funnel Web Style Spider Infestation Found 200 Deadly Spider Nests EDUCATIONAL VIDEO

I accidently found a major Australian Spider infestation very close to my home. This may explain why we had a rogue Male Funnel Web spider at our place in late Summer. This Funnel Web infestation is unusual for a number of reasons and this is exposed in this video. I grew up in a part of Sydney where these spiders were common, but i have never seen a massive infestation like the one in Berowra next to the Tennis Courts.
I used a Bore Camera to look down 90 Funnel Web nests to establish what I found. Funnel Web Spider holes do look very similar to Cicada holes, especially when you see a large number of them on the ground. Funnel Web spiders disguise their homes well and amongst loose leaf litter. Funnel Web Spiders live underground in a well kept web lined spider lair. The design of their nest is very impressive and would require a major amount of earth work to complete.
Funnel Web Spiders are very dangerous and deadly spiders. If you live in Australia your taught a large black ground loving Spider could be a Funnel Web. It's important to always treat these spiders as being dangerous. Funnel Web Spiders are milked of their Venom to create a Antivenom to save people after getting a Funnel Web bite. The Male Funnel Web Spiders are the most dangerous and sought after for their Venom.
The reserve where I found this Spider infestation is owned by Hornsby Council. The area needs to be cleaned up as it's made more dangerous by all the fallen tree litter piled up next to the Spider infestation. A very simple way to make it uncomfortable for these spiders is to keep it clean and free of the bugs and critters they feed on. The urban myth that Bush Turkeys clear out Spiders is a myth. I prove that in this video.
Maybe I will investigate this Spider infestation further, it would be nit to see a complete spider to fully understand who's living down the Funnel Web holes.

I bet KZbin dumps this video like a Hot Potato. Because I'm not jamming a product down the audiences throat or trying to get the audience to follow affiliate links it secures this videos as a total waste of time to produce. Honestly I would trust the Deadly Funnel Web Spiders more than my Partner on KZbin.

Have always loved your videos and presenting style. Was originally drawn to them with your Thomas videos when my son was younger (as was your son). My word that’s a lot of spiders! The milking centre should send a team down there a grab a stack of them. The brush Turkey mound was the biggest I’ve seen…impressive work by Mr Turkey

That's really cool how they bundle themselves up in their escape pod. You really should let the antivenom collectors know, I'm sure they'd appreciate more data on the ideal habitats of these spiders at the very least.

My Grandpa and Uncles used to go funnelweb hunting for the anti venom side of things, they got paid for them back then. Amazing work. Over 90 holes investigated. The way they pull the silk over at the junction when threatened was amazing. I will be reposting to twittX to hopefully deter any more immigration😇👍

A perfect example of why I will never live in Australia. I don’t know how you do it. Beautiful country, but it would only take finding one of those spiders in my house, and I would be on the next plane out of there.
@BugTheSandWorm
@BugTheSandWorm 5 ай бұрын
Hello, Aussie here. You typically don’t see them *in* your house. They actually can’t climb very well, hence why they live on the ground so finding them in your house isn’t too common because they can’t get to a high up gap. That being said yes, they do still appear in your house. However I’ve never seen one inside over my 16 years of life. Usually I see them around the house, but it’s still been months since I last saw one. They’re elusive critters. But I understand you, I hate spiders, and of course I live in a country known for spiders

I think the spiders took over the holes and renovated them for nesting, the males are long gone which are the worry, in mating season they are very aggressive will jump at you like 2 feet attack you.

They’ll still take males. There is a reason for wanting females mostly, I just can’t remember what the reason was
@SilentHotdog28

@@BugTheSandWorm Other way around, they need males because males are the deadly ones, 5x more potent venom than females and they live a short amount of time. Females can still be used for research and things like that, but they don't need anywhere near as many, especially since they live much longer.

Im not sure how true it is but, I heard Sidney female funnel web spiders dont wander far from their nest so they dont pose a real threat but its the males that pose the biggest threat to humans because they wander around looking for females. Either way, Im not a huge fan of spiders.
@cheeseburgertim1694
@cheeseburgertim1694 9 ай бұрын
Only the male Sydney funnel web has venom that can kill humans, the females venom will make you sick, but can't kill you. That's what makes the male so dangerous as not only can the males venom kill you, the males wander looking for females and that brings males into contact with humans as they only wander at night and need to hide when the sun comes up as the sun will kill them. That's why males end up in shoes or wandering under doors into houses. Females remain in the burrows and only leave their burrows if the burrows is excavated by man or flooded by rain.

I had similar burrows around my flat in S/E Victoria... I suspected they were spiders. One night I woke in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and nearly stood on what was the meanest looking spider I've seen in my life. When I woke up in the morning I thought it was a dream, but nope it wasn't as I found where I had dropped a convex lid over it, but it was a Melbourne Trapdoor Spider... Looks similar but not nearly as dangerous.
