Music has always been a way for me to pass through the highs and lows of life, all my life. Since my father passed away first week of January 2022, I had not been listening at all. It made the people around me worry. Then I listened to this song and my soul reset. When you are expected to be the strong one, you have no one to lean on. From the first note, it grabbed me. Although the lyrics seem despondent, the song lifted me back out of the depths I was in. I cried deep ad long. I needed this. Thank you, Leon Bridges.

Sorry for your loss. My Dad also passed, earlier this year. & music has always been so dear to me too, & i couldn’t listen to any old favorites especially soulful stuff with lyrics, i wouldn’t have been able to get through life & function like that, music could just undo me. I listened to a lot of classical, & then transitioned into bossa nova… it’s nice to finally be able to enjoy some soulful lyrics & melodies again 🥹🙏✌️
