I like to think up to this point ada knew Leon had been through crazy training and experience but still underestimated him as that rookie cop from racoon city and the fact he is now on par if not slightly superior to her fighting ability and he is no longer naive legit took her by surprise Edit: I know Leon is a far better fighter than Ada what I mean story wise and character beats wise this is where Ada actually starts taking him seriously and respecting him

A potential Ghost Survivor for this? Since these are in a sense an alternate timeline (and it could be a what-if scenario), imagine Luis awakening sometime before Leon defeated Saddler and the island goes up. His final moments of trying to help Leon stop the cult and do what's right is, in a sense, God's grace to let him continue to live and change.

Original Leon was smarter and knew Ada was working for Wesker since he knew about Wesker thanks to Chris and Claire who told him about the Code Veronica events since he was the one who told Chris where Claire was in the first place. And Leon was smart enough to make the connection between Wesker and Ada. But since they completely skipped Code Veronica they apparently made Leon completely oblivious to Wesker's whole existence in the remake...

Lol Leon was never supposed to know Wesker. He was just a rookie cop,he knew nothing about the S.T.A.R.S. It makes a lot more sense that he doesn't know who Wesker is until Chris and Sheva killed him and the news spread. And remake Leon is smarter than the OG,he figured out Krauser was the one behind Ashley's abduction and requested Hunnigan to get infos about Luis because he was fishy,he also didn't trust Luis right away.

Yeah I know it's not same person, I know that Capcom's way of doing this kind of thing is just simply to hire a real model for the 3D to get based on like a suit that can be worn and performed by anyone, but they always have the facial and motion actress the same as the VA with occasionally use stunt actor/actress for difficult movement. The Actress did an okay job on facial and body movement but her voice is soulless, it felt off not because the voice changes, the actress just can't act as Ada properly on the voice aspect IMHO, especially with that added volume boost because she sounds soooo lazy. My gut feeling says the actress just has 0 experience in Voice Acting but is quite alright with visual acting (with movement stuff). If they hire someone who can act more and have more experience in voice acting, it might be different.

Everyone saying Ada is less herself never paid the character any real attention. Her outfit is on point for the time, environment, and mission. She’s acting more like a manipulative spy instead of a quasi romance to Leon. And instead of just leading Leon on, she and Leon are self-aware that she uses him to advance her objectives, something the games never overtly acknowledge. They also have verified that she did offer Luis “amnesty” in exchange for his information, just like she was working an angle with Bertolucci in Raccoon. The ending was perfectly executed, because Ada makes the cognitive decision to betray Wesker, proving she does have a moral conscience rooted in her facade. Everything about Ada’s characterization was perfectly written, never leaving the audience to think she was doing this all on a whimsy like the original Ada.

@@AlexKuri Understandable, she is lacking the charm in place of sarcasm and dry wit. That’s why you have RE4 and RE2R to experience that version of the character. RE4R was meant to show a gritty side of Ada. What fans aren’t realizing is that this has been Ada’s new iteration since Welcome to Raccoon City when Lily Gao delivered lines in the same tone and manner in those scenes as well. It is apart of the character’s new branding in the franchise. They’re obviously focusing on Ada’s thematic nuances rather just her personality. Meaning they want the actress to act and perform the lines like a spy, rather than just acting like a deceitful romance.

So to cast her as VA is Capcom's only blunder about Ada in the RE4R. Jolene Andersen fits perfectly and could perform the lines like a spy (that's why it's called acting). And yes, Capcom didn't hire her because of the union thing, not because of all that 'new iteration' bullshit.

I disagree, the original knife fight with Krauser was a lot more spectacular and Leon was actually able to give Krauser a hard time while in the remake he gets owned with ease with Krauser even saying he is disappointed. And yeah the way Leon almost breaks Ada's arm who counters with a cartwheel only to be bloced again by Leon's knife to her throat was also more iconic imo.

This right here the fight between Leon and Ada, perfect example of what's wrong with the remake, in the original you had the cool suspenceful music kick in, awsome camera angles and slowmotion, cool overexagerated movements by both characters, charming banter, in this one the music is vomit, voice acting is soulless, the choreography is decent but camera work is static and boring, there's like two angles from the side and from top and neither one looks good, changing back and fourth without rhyme or reason, oh man and the color pallet in these remakes is the definition of bland, Leon way overdoing it with the stabs, sometimes less is more, in the original Leon aserted his dominance in a single move, in this one he's like a larper swinging his wooden sword with no regard.
