Long post summed up: I have fond memories of this song as a little kid because of my dad. When I was a little kid (four years old) my brother (who is four year older than me) would dance our asses off to this song. I couldn't tell you what it was about this song, it just made us want to dance so hard and so long and nothing in the world mattered at that point. I remember being so out of breath, so hot and sweaty, and I remember wiping myself out. I would beg to hear it one more time and mom and dad would say "no, go to sleep." But I'd go to sleep happy. There were also a handful of other Wet Willie songs that we liked, but this one was our most favorite. I went looking for this song last night, but I didn't know the band name, and searching what I thought was "Leonia" and a couple of key words and phrases (chicken, gotta find something to eat, joy) got me nowhere. Tonight I was spending some time with my mom and told her how I couldn't find the song. I told her some of the words I knew and I'm also fortunate that I remembered the melody nearly 100%. 20 minutes of searching and we finally found this song! She played it for me and in the first few notes I suddenly felt four years old again. But then thirty seconds into it I felt like I had just heard it yesterday. "I'm a time traveller," I thought. I felt so many emotions in four minutes and thirty nine seconds. Tonight was magical. Mom and I were spending time together because the COVID-19 pandemic is stressing us out. Brother was at work in a grocery store. Dad died in 2015 (I was 18, I just finished high school) and I just turned 23 a few days ago. Yet, I feel so close to him when I hear this song. I can see the exact way he danced with us, I know what shoes he was wearing, which hat he was wearing (trick question: he always wore the same hat), and I can smell the coffee and cigarettes. I can imagine the scratchy texture of his beard.

Jimmy Hall resembles him too. Hall was the best live performer of all of the Southern Rock bands BITD. I live 30 miles from Macon Georgia so I saw all of them multiple times. If you don't know who I am speaking about google Macon Georgia Southern Rock bands and you will be amazed.
