Well sure but: 1. There's not much humor in that. 2. In real life, all kind of people end up together that, on the surface at least, should not. 3. But nerds ending up with very attractive women isn't that uncommon, really. Money and stability, which most nerds have, and all the nerds on this show do, is a powerful aphrodisiac once you graduate from high school. I have an uncle whose story was a lot like Leonard's. He waited on this special, very pretty girl all through college. They dated off and on, she moved on several times. He waited her out. They were married at least 50 years and, like Leonard and many nerds in real life, he made an income to die for, was essentially never laid off. They had a hellofva life and she certainly never looked back.

It would have been a LOT easier for Leonard to talk about what he does with Penny if he were an aerospace engineer. Rockets and spaceships make ordinary people go WOW! and HOLY SHIT! It's a lot more relatable to them than quarks and leptons. Howard should have milked that a lot more. All Sheldon does is write on a whiteboard all day. Loser.

that is the whole point - if they got together right away it takes away from the drama and comedy - the whole will they or wont they drama is the enjoyable part of the show to me - i love that tension in a show - you sound like a boring person so i understand why you do not like this kind of drama - you have no enjoyment in life you take every thing too seriously

To me, having seen it in real life, it’s sort of fascinating. A friend of mine was *crazy* about his female roommate. She was smart, pretty, great personality. She gave him the “I don’t want to ruin our friendship” speech. Because they shared a wall, the poor guy listened as she brought home over 50 guys in the year they lived together, and even she didn’t have a guy would crawl into his bed “just to cuddle.” Sleeping with him was a flat no. It was like her only criteria was “not Mike.” So strange.
