This is obviously Bernstein's version of Charles Ives' art songs. As immensely talented as Lenny was, nobody was as talented as a composer than the Yankee from Danbury, CT. Still, a good attempt at capturing the Ives spirit.

Bernstein wrote some good music… and some terrible music, such as this dated, corny piece. It’s not funny.

Who are the soloist and the accompanist? Where did they perform this?

From the description box: The singer featured on this recording is American soprano Barbara Bonney, accompanied by pianist Malcolm Martineau. Bonney originally sang the cycle at Wigmore Hall in London. She later included it on one of her solo albums, "My Name Is Barbara," so named after the first piece of the cycle.

Beautiful voice but she’s way too stuffy and serious in her interpretation. Listen to Harolyn Blackwell’s recording to hear a singer who gets into the character of a 11 year old in a way that really brings out the humor in these songs. It’s magic. kzbin.info/aero/OLAK5uy_lTuJN0lTLoeQi_cv_XRZvbkxBWXXscX2o&si=T-10mAD58yD3aZos

Beautiful!!! thank you for sharing! She's so charming! I have to learn one or a few of these excepts in a month to sing for my summer church service so this'll come in handy!
