In 1995, Leonard Cohen (67) shaved off all his hair and became a Buddhist monk due to depression and alcoholism. For many years, Leonard Cohen struggled with severe depression, and he took all kinds of drugs. But nothing worked. So now he has cut out all types of medication. And so he lived until his death in 2916.

Yep. Organ. Same word. And that guy really cooked on this. Cohen is Jewish and was raised in an Orthodox household. However, he was a student of world philosophies and religions throughout his life. I believe for a time he lived as a Buddhist monk. He was a very interesting man, and an unapologetic poet. His songs are a deep and interesting rabbit hole. I love this performance, but it's worth listening to some of his earlier vocals; deep too, but REALLY full and smooth. Beautiful.

Yes You're absolutely correct: The original phrasing of the words was Ya As In Before I knew Ya. Leonard also was forced to change a line in the song " The Future" because it was considered to be too perverse. That line was changed from Anal sex to careless sex. Good Memory on your part there. *cheers* You have it right as far as the original vocals were sung.. BTW That is a Hammond B-3 Organ with a rotating speaker system called a Leslie. There's no other organ that sounds quite like it. It works by a rotating group of tone wheels which generate the notes electro mechanically. It also has the most unique percussion of the organs. The attack and punch of this entire system has yet to be duplicated. Sampling comes the closest but, still you can tell when it's a real Hammond organ.
