Death of A Ladies Man is a pretty important transition point between New Skin For the Old Ceremony and Various Positions (along with Recent Songs, which was sort of a nessisary regression from which Various Positions could progress). A critical development between periods of his music.

But I do know that I don't like the music from this Era, and I long fir his gravely voice, not the voice on this recording. Doesn't matter: no one is forcing me to listen to it. It was just a shock, being such a very far distance from the Leonard of the 60s.
