This is absolutely brilliant. I know Chicago's albums (up through 17, after which I stopped listening) like the back of my hand. It is rare for anyone to try to cover Chicago because the musical demands are so steep. This is absolutely brilliant -- I listened to all of your videos and smiled for joy from beginning to end. Yes! My instrumental skills are horrible. When i looked at some Chicago sheet music though i knew that not the place to try to start to get good - kind of a far cry from chopsticks. Despite any complexity, these guys are nailing it though.

I was a huge fan up through 12 and then 17. After that, not so much. There were a couple of exceptions. I loved 'Night and Day'. Maybe another song, here or there, but nothing compares to the first set of albums.

Me too. Tears of joy - as a sound-engineer, THIS is the sound I've had in my head for YEARS....and now I hear them. Crazy! And I do agree, after 17 it was downhill, APART from a song on 21 called "God Save The Queen" : kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGTUcmmOhcSHkKM . The demo called "Bigger Than Elvis" was also ok, but that's it after 17 for me. But do check out.....cheers from Denmark

The sound quality here is fantastic. This is probably what the original Chicago studio recordings would have sounded like had they had access to today's audio technology. Credit Leonid's (and friends') vision for how awesome this recording (and videography) turned out.

Old rocker here. I always felt the best music was early works produced by bands. Loved the raw energy of the music much more than the polished songs produced later in their careers. Still think Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago II and Chicago III were full of great tunes. When I see lists of Top Rock Bands of the 70's, Chicago is usually down the list below so many lame bands. They released 38 albums with a sound that is second to none. Leonid & Friends certainly does this band justice. Going to see them in Phoenix in Nov. Cheers

To Leonid and Friends... and all of those who read these comments. It's hard to believe we're a week removed from 5 years since this video was released. I don't think anyone on the planet expected things to be where they are today. I discovered Leonid only about a year ago, and even had 4th row seats for a show in IL. Sadly I was unable to go and I know I missed a magical night there. In place of that, I come to this channel often for a little pick-me-up and some incredible musicianship. Of course I bought both albums available on Amazon and have told anyone who will listen to me to check them out. Branching out to EWF and Blood, Sweat and Tears shows what kind of talent and range is possible. Please, please, please... keep exploring various catalogues and continue to bring the world joy when it needs it most. My gosh, i can't find words enough to express how absolutely amazing these guys are. I've been playing for 46 years, and I played with several groups and a couple that were extremely good. I am completely in awe with admiration to all these wonderful musicians. In many ways, being a "cover" band is even more difficult that playing originals. Further, covering the intricate songs from Chicago and EWF requires magnitudes more talent and skill than just playing a song. I believe that Sergey is possibly one of the finest guitarists to ever grace this planet. Igor has every drum beat down to the millisecond. The brass section is amazing and Leonid puts it all together with incredible skill and talent. Just saw them in Highwood,ill a small stage with lousy acoustics and the place was SOLD OUT. You could tell they were really into it and the crowd was really getting into it. Fantastic. I had seen most of your other Leonid & Friends videos. I came to watch this one after reading an article about how and why you did this song as your first Chicago cover. I was 8 years old when Chicago Transit Authority was released in 1969 and I've been a major Chicago fan ever since. I know their rich, complex music note-for-note. Leonid, you were prophetic in choosing this song as your first Chicago track. Leonid sings:- 'Wish I knew, what was going wrong' - refers to the original Chicago band loosing traction and fans as they faded. Then in comes Vasily: "Start all over again and do it the right way . .' which heralded the start of Chicago music recorded in Moscow. Did you know your choice was so visionary?

Growing up, I bought each and every Chicago album at least upto X, from which this beautiful song is reproduced. Congratulations Leonid & Friends for an unbelievably great cover. In fact all the Chicago songs you have covered are brilliant. Keep it coming!
