Another great recording and performance. This one really brings out the style or construction process of many of V.Lobos' compositions for the classical guitar: patterns and 'form playing'. Chord forms or series of notes are simply lifted up or down the fretboard while at the same time respecting the chord or note sequence from fret to fret. Some of his pieces feature this style more than others. The piece that we just listened to has a good dose of it. GD

Too much liberty is taken with the tempo; the true melody is lost, resulting in what's basically a run-on sentence of phrasing.

Nathan Zucker In a certain way this study has a "pre-bossa nova" character, just check out some jobim or joao glberto guitar, there's a huge brazilian folk aproach on that rythm pattern.
