Thanks for your tutorials. They are always informative. I also noticed in this one, but it’s true in all of them, that as soon as you switch to a high gain sound you get a scowl on your face. Love it! Lol

The scowl gives you more gain :p

I know this has been around a minute, but really helpful! I just got an expression pedal in the mail today, and spent some time getting a wah sound dialed. The challenge for me was getting the taper to feel right - mostly involved setting slope and mid points. I used a Weeping Demon for years, it was the only wah that really worked well with my tone.

Another great tutorial! Leon your pedal board is mint, so classy lookin'.

When I add the wah block to a preset build I created it doesn’t sound like a real wah. The low cuff is there but not the highness like when you roll towards the toe. And the control dial doesn’t react when I step on the expression pedal. It’s weird.

Hi bro! So u can use “ANY” expression pedal connected from Output via TRS cable to the Pedal 1 or 2 of FM3??? For instance a Cry baby?? Cheers from Chile Bro!!
@LeonTodd2 жыл бұрын
You'll need something with a TRS jack - a crybaby won't work unfortunately

Leon, I have a Ernie ball volume pedal and when I calibrate it through the FC the calibrate slider on the axe Fx only moves about a 1/4 up and 1/4 down. Would you know what’s going on?

ok problem solved ! the problem was in the Global menu --> Other (page) --> Output Volumes (1-4) were assigned to FC 1PEDAL 1 ......i turned them to NONE and thats it !........(i am rookie to Ax Fx 3 so shit happens ) , now time to rock on ! \m/

Hi all Great video. My wah on the axe 3 seems to disappear after I go past the 12th fret. I am using the cry baby with the settings in the video. Amp is the rectifier red modern. This problem really bugs me. Wah sounds great but in the upper registers it just disappears. Advice?

having trouble creating a whammy pedal...I did it before...not sure why I can't figure it out now....did I need to re calibrate after a firmware update? that's the only thing that would have changed since then....anybody?

Re-calibrate the pedal for sure. I like the classic whammy mode in the pitch block best but the advanced one is rad too.

Man, I need to buy an expression pedal! That Petrucci Wah sounds insane! One question, do you get output level peaks with that extreme EQ settings in the wah? How do you compensate for that? Thank you always for your videos man, super helpful!
@NudnikShpilkus5 жыл бұрын
A distorted amp will turn the EQ peaks into greater distortion saturation at the peaky freq-ies. It's the clean amp you'd have to worry about, or if you were doing the wah after the distortion and/or amp blocks into a clean high-headroom signal chain.

great stuff as usual Leon. I've been a wah nut for years and even though i had a fairly decent sound on the fx3 with it this really opened up so many possibilities!!!! any chance of a wah / whammy vid?? had to use 2 separate presets to get both on one scene but not the whammy one other scenes. would love to know if it can be done on the one preset if you get what i mean
