Do as many as you can. That was by far the best explanation and tutorial on that module.

I'm not into playing metal tones generally, but I got this module to round out my collection, to represent the Metal. And.... found I just wasn't using it. The different EQs confused me, and now I see why. Thanks, Leon Todd, I'll be trying this in the next couple of days.

Man, I've got this module, and you've just inspired me to go play with it some more. I have never tried a few of the things you showed us here. Thanks for sharing! The only other module I've got is the Plexi. It's a little redundant, as I've got an older Ceriatone 1987 head that I've done the Neil 2-in-1 (1987/2204) mod to. So, rather than the Plexi module, I'd rather have either the 800 (which might also be a little redundant) or the newest Deliverance module. So if anyone wants to trade, let me know! LOL
@LeonTodd2 күн бұрын
Deliverance is a great all rounder

I have yet to hear you demo a Synergy module I didn't love. No exception here. If I were going to start over with a new rig, Synergy would be at the core.

I hope they come out with a 4 module loader at some point - it would be unprecedented for versatility!

0:10 "Or even Strypah..." 1) Yes I am familiar with them, surprisingly. Michael Sweet is one of the great underrated metal singers. 2) Surprised to hear they used the IIC+--the Mesa with mids (relative to the Dual Rec, anyway). 3) Am pretty sure Leon is an endless fountain of obscure 80s guitar knowledge at this point. Really surprised that the Dual Rec ended up edging out Marks as Mesa's most popular amp, as the Marks are so much more flexible. Love all the knobs, switches, and do-hickeys. The backlit graphic EQ is really classy, and it doesn't look quite as "70s 8 track tape player"-ish as the big flat Mesa EQ sliders. The best approach I think is to do what Devin Townsend did in Strapping Young Lad--use the Dual Rec and the Mark together to offset each other's weaknesses and reinforce their strengths.

Saw them twice on their Aussie tour- phenomenal live band!

I can’t decide if I should get this or the drect. This is more flexible but a recto is a recto. Probably gonna get both because I’m addicted to gear.🙂
@LeonTodd3 күн бұрын
Both, then you have the ultimate Mesa/Boogie that they'll never make!
@kylegewecke48543 күн бұрын
Get both… but get this one first. More versatile in my opinion. The cleans in it are outstanding and a great pedal platform. Then you have the ultimate high gain channel.
@pip55282 күн бұрын
Great demo but if you really want the high gain, you can crank Volume I in tandem with Lead Drive since they cascade. The Metallica sound is generally Volume I 9.5 and Lead Drive on 5 or 6 whereas the Dream Theater sound is both on about 7 or 7.5.

Good point, that's one of the cool things about how those controls interact!
