This was a real pleasure to watch! Thanks for diving into the Multiwave, Leon - you made is sound great. We just released a new version of the Multiwave Distortion - it's called the Ultrawave Multiband Processor.

Is (6:40) tone in the new ultrawave? Love that

@@truce11 Yes, you can totally pull those octave/foldback tones from the Ultrawave.

@@sourceaudioeffects The Multiwave Pro will be difficult to surpass. IMO, I have the wired hothand when you were giving them away many years ago, need to get a wireless hothand. Still have mine since you released them, and my Soundblox Pro Bass Envelope Filter, and Stingray.

I have the later Soundblox 2 Bass Multiwave Distortion. With the help of the additional NeuroHub you can plug it into your computer. The Soundblox 2 is a little bit complicated to use, as you have select buttons and modes for differnt settings. it adds an EQ, blend and noise gate and you can control some paramters with an expression pedal plug to your MIDI switch. Yes, that thing is damn wicked. I use it for a gnarly fuzz for my bass on top an octaver and behind the Manta Envelope filter from Source Audio. You get a real evil bass synth.

Waiting for the release of basically V2 (called the Ultrawave), which according the SA-website should be out in the coming months. It indeed will have a normal pedal format, like the C4.
@seventhsealhere4 жыл бұрын
Definitely not garbage. Super flexible and sounds good! Cool mix options with fuzz and octave in the multi band mode knob. Does it have potential as a boost on a high gain amp setting with using the output knob only? 👍

I have the 2 presets one, with the noise gate and de eq, and I absolutely love it for "about to blow everything up" leads haha.

I just ordered one of these, I have been keeping an eye out for one for a long time now. Really psyched to see how it works with other effects like reverb and delay

This is such a useful review, way to play to the style of the pedal, some sweet sounds in this thing that has me thinking I may eventually need me the Multiwave!
@shealeffler61474 жыл бұрын
I'll bet you the reason that the low-end felt "cleaner" to you is that the multiband is separating the low-end, mid, and high-end, or maybe just lows and highs, and you're hearing less intermodulation between the lows and highs. Multiband distortion tends to do that. I've never seen a pedal or plugin or whatnot before that has a multiband wavefolder/foldback distortion in it. This thing is fucking cool, I want one.
@shealeffler61474 жыл бұрын
oh, and, reason I say that is that I used to have a VFE Triumvirate three-band distortion w/ separate low, mid, and hi distortion types, gains, and level. Like a weird three-band EQ/fuzz/tubescreamer/grindy-ass distortion pedal. It was awesome but not what I needed.

Yo Leon! It was herman Li from dragonforce who used these so extravagantly with the ring. I'm still gassing for that after all these years!

Nice sound, I finally got one (bass multiwave) & tried it for electric guitar. The big downside in my opinion is the i/o sockets was surprisingly very close side by side! My pancake or similar style plug won’t fit! They designed it for old style straight narrow plugs 😂

Yeah the new Ultrawave has a lot of these sounds but in a "normal" pedal housing

That pedal is SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK! I hear a lot of useful tones in that one! I never knew Source Audio got into that stuff, but I know I like their delay and reverb pedals more than Strymon. They give the old studio racks a run for their money. Good one Leon!
