I really tried this like 50 times and never look like the video. You really have talent :) thanks for sharing.. I wont give up
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Joan B No please don't give up. Can I ask what kind of cord you are using, that can have an effect on how the final braid looks and make it look a little different :-)

Oh right ok. Yeah, it could be maybe if you loose a bit of concentration while making the braid. I know how that feels ;-P
@penelopeliotta21879 жыл бұрын
CSLdesigns I have not been able to get the pattern correct yet either but I haven't given up yet. I think this attempt 30+ now. I keep losing my concentration and am unable to back track to the point where I messed up the pattern. sighs. I really LOVE the pattern.

You can also use Embroidery Floss for these bracelets instead of the silk rattail cord. I'll experiment with both, I saw another video of someone using yarn like you crochet with to make a kumihimo.

I've put your website as my favourites, I love the patterns, and as I'm new to Kumihimo (only a few days) the charts make them so easy to follow. I might start the basics first though until I get a little more experienced. Keep up the good work.

Do you have a more in depth of this pattern or can you start to finish. After you go as far as you go, I then get lost on what to do next. I love this pattern and I would love to make different colors for myself as I love, love, love leopard print. Thank you.

you mentioned in the video that you have other videos on how to finish the ends. could you point me in the direction of one of them please? when you first make the knot to keep the cords together it looks too big to fit into end caps like that. thank you! i really do appreciate you so much!
@CSLdesigns10 жыл бұрын
I don't quite have the video on how to finish off a kumihimo braid just yet, so sorry if I said that in the video, but I have literally just finished recording it, so am planning on having it up on monday. Yes the knot would be too big to fit into the ends. That why you tie some spare cord around the braid where you want it to finish to hold it together, and then you cut the knot off and then put the end of the braid into the kumihimo end. I hope that helped. Otherwise I'll hopefully have the video up on monday :-)

that will be wonderful thank you so much! you are such a Sweetheart and i really adore your videos. i'm just getting into macrame. i used to wire wrap and make chain maille jewelry, but between the size of the wire, pliers, etc, it was wreaking havoc on my hands. so i cannot wait to get started on these things! i LOVE making things and i love watching others make things as well. the whole creative process is fascinating to me because it is different for each person. thank you again!

There is an error in this pattern, because I wrote down all the numbers and towards the end, you jumped and it put all my work out!

It's same as these one you've shown but how to later them with a single finishing? I want to have more than a single layered kumihimo necklace.......i hope that makes sence? thanks

Afeezat Jummy Oyeyemi Oh right, ok. I get what you mean. I don't have a tutorial for that yet, but it is something I will definitely keep in mind for the future :-)

hello, your weave until move 39 and come back to start (movement 1)?? I'm a little lost, and I want to finish this tissue, and took several attempts and achievement not go beyond what you do the video, thanks. By the way, are all your beautiful work! regards
@CSLdesigns10 жыл бұрын
Hello :-) Thank you very much. I hope I am able to help you. You literally just continue doing the same thing throughout the whole braid. You keep moving to the next pair and do the same movements throughout the whole braid. You don't have to worry about the numbers as they can help make it more complicated than it actually is. I normally ignore them, and only use the black dots when I set up the braid. I really hope that answered your question. If not please feel free to get back to me, and I'll do my best to help ;-)
@dragonjoy131310 жыл бұрын
yet another question. do you ever make a 12 strand kumihimo braid? i saw it on another youtube channel and to be honest, she didn't teach it nearly as well as you do. i liked the affect it made. ok, one more question. is it just practice with the kumihimo board that lets you know how to make the different color patterns?
@CSLdesigns10 жыл бұрын
Yes I have a video of a twisted kumihimo braid that uses 12 strands. Yes certainly practise plays a part, and just experimenting. I had one braid I did by accident, because I was wanting to do another braid but wasn't concentrating and it turned out completely different, but otherwise there are also loads of patterns on the Internet and also there are kumihimo braid generators, where you can make your patterns.

@aneska2899 жыл бұрын
yes..how long the lengths of cord are?? in cms?
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Ana Morgenstern For an average size bracelet I would say make your lengths of cord about 60cm long each. I hope that helped :-)
@aneska2899 жыл бұрын
thanks.but can you explain more slow this video but i dont understand...this video leopard print!! :-((
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
You need to cut the cord that you're going to use, and then set it up on the disk like showed in the video, and then you need to work in opposite pairs. So you take your top left and bring it down and stay of the left side of the bottom pair and then you take the bottom right and bring it up, and stay on the right side of the top cord, and then turn your disk to the next pair and repeat, and you just keep repeating this until you've used up your cord. Also if you go to my website, I have a section where I have all the kumihimo patterns in picture and written form that might be helpful. The link is in the description box. I hope that helped :-)

I have not read through all the comments on the thread for the animal print, but I placed the threads on a 64 slot round loom and the thread spacing is a lot better and even spokes. The larger thread count on the loom is a lot better for this pattern and larger thread count patterns. I hope this helps someone.
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Rhonda Hearell Yes, that will certainly be helpful, and make it easier to make the braid :-)

Another question.. Is the bracelet too big if i'm using 2mm satin cord instead of 1mm?
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
marinela chifor No, certainly not to big. It really depends on the look you want. The braid will just become thicker, about double the thickness of the one I made in the video :-)

will embroidery floss work?
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Kylee & Kadee E. Yes. Certainly. Any cord or thread will work, just give you a different final look. Embroidery floss will give you a thinner braid if you just use the strands as they are. Or you could use more strands per slot to get a thicker braid. I hope that helped :-)

This would probably be easier if you made a 48 or more slot disc, they have templates for making 4 different discs, from 48 to 96 slots; craftdesignonline.com/info/templates.php
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Diane Peter Yes, it certainly would be a little easier, but still very do-able on the 'normal' disk. You can also buy disks with more slots :-)
