You did that the wrong way round guys. You should drive to a metre from the end on the ground until the sprocket is above the end.. Then use the drive sprocket as a capstan and pull the rest of the track up and onto the upper rollers until the first link engages on the sprocket then release the rope. The sprocket will keep the upper run under tension, not as they did it with the top slack. Then CAREFULLY having the driver rotate the sprocket and with a crowbar to hold up the lower end have the upper end slide down to meet it. With the DEIHL track it is very inflexible by design and a clamp will be needed as shown at the front. You need to watch the Brits with a Challenger2, lads. I still want to see how you separated the track in the first place!

There is not a wrong way of dping things if it works....just a different method
