I love the detail of having the edge trim along the bottom of the box lap onto the bottom instead of just being a surface applied strip. It may have just been a practical way to guarantee alignment along the edge, but it brings that extra level of detail to the game.

Beautiful box. Just one structural note: Your corner splines won't add much strength with the grain running the length of the spline like that (vertical relative to the finished box). If you had sliced short little splines off the end of your thin stock, the grain would run through the miter joint (horizontal relative to the finished box), giving a stronger joint. I hope that makes sense. A box like this will hopefully never see enough stress for it to matter. Really nice project!

The box came out beautifully, it would a great addition to any nightstand. I would love it if you explained some more techniques as you build, the angle on the camera when you made the feet left me wanting.
