(4K) Afternoon Departures from Chicago O'Hare Int'l Airport

I thought I was the only one who loves to watch planes take off and land! In the days before TSA, etc., I used to take my sons and we drove down to the end of reef runway (Daniel K. Inouye airport in Honolulu) and stand near the fence at the end of the runway as the planes lift off. The thrill of feeling all the power was amazing. Now for security reasons, access to that part of the road is blocked.

Nicest sounds: Lufthansa A340, and United 777 at 12:45. I love the view as night falls with the sea of lights across the airfield.

O'Hare usually has a nice variety though I fly on Southwest so I just 99% of the time see what MDW has. :P Nice to see a couple 747 cargos and a nice A340 in there. The main this for me in this is always neat seeing how small and quick the Embrear 175 takeoff is like at the start compared to the other midsize (737s, 777s) and giants there. Nice to see a dual prop Cape Air in there....they used to be in Albany but not anymore and they usually had the single engine planes.
