THIS THE ONE I BEEN WAITING ON!!! DJ Precise, still my favorite producer from the Boot. Fresh is more famous, KLC has more of a catalog, but the quality of his music is unmatched. Him & David Faulk did some amazing work. The production on "Fours, Deuces & Trays" is still clean & immaculate after all these years.

He was my favorite producer from New Orleans. Big boy record was so under ratted... I think wish when the label closed he would have went to no limit. He was amazing..

Man Big Boy Records would’ve been Big Time if they could’ve made it to that next Level…they was Stronger then cash money records….If ghetto Twins first Album would have saw the mainstream when it first came out it would’ve been game over

Although I'm from Fort Worth, TX, I grew up on Big Boy Records, No Limit Records & Cash Money Records. Those labels were my influences in making music. You should interview David "D Funk" Faulk.
@PD-oy3yi7 жыл бұрын
Yes David Faulk came up with all those classic Big Boy melodies, He was the better producer, He played all the live instruments!!!!!!!
@kannon39797 жыл бұрын
D Funk came up with that fonky ass bassline on "Here I Go" classic hit that will be around forever after trap music is gone😂 Back in the days when I bought cds, i always followed the producers in the cd liner card instead of the artist and kept up with who played what instrument.

I think these interviews about New Orleans Hip Hop/Jazz/Bounce Culture is awesome. I'm a fan of Cash Money/No Limit/Big Boy...every artist/label to ever come from our great city...but can the West Bank rappers get some minutes also. Rip McThick...Tim Smooth...Tre 8... Mobo Joe(Mobo Records) and artist as well as Bustdown(Putcha Bally's On/Nasty Bitch) definitely need to be interviewed.

Man that boy was nice with them beats! He was underrated to me! BIG BOY RECORDS had the most talent overall to me, CASH MONEY just blew up first. Chuck didn't know the real talent he had. I also think he didn't know the business side of the music industry.
@79improve6 жыл бұрын
Word. Cise's tracks that he did 20yrs ago on Big Boy(G Slim/Mystikal/GT's/Black Menace/etc.) sounds better than 95% of the shit out today. Heavily underrated and waaaaaaay ahead of his time. I'm not sure why he isn't a big name industry producer. Clearly he is just as talented as Dre/Quik/Ye.
@nonymous5906 жыл бұрын
Ken Wil I disagree. He had a few good tracks but he wasn't messing with mannie on the beats. And cash money blew up because they were simply better overall.
@huntersflight90236 жыл бұрын
Jack Apple I never compared him to Manny, I just stated that CM got more exposure than Big Boy. Mannie was the best to me in that era. But Precise was right there with him. But I do think that Precise had a better range of making different kinds of beats.
