Many moons ago before my dad retired from GM, he won tickets to a NASCAR race at MIS. The tickets included meeting our driver (at the time), Joe Nemechek (even got a signed hat from him), a pit tour and they took us on a 'track tour' around turn 3 and 4, pulled behind one of their pit vehicles on a small trailer with seats. You simply cannot get a feel (no pun intended) for the banks of a NASCAR track until you're sitting in a vehicle not intended to be on one and feeling like you could tip over. The race was the GFS 400, so they had a small convoy of GFS semis, WITH TRAILERS, trucking around the entire track. To this day, I never thought I would see a semi driving at such an angle as they did.

When I was very small I got to go round the Brooklands banked race course with my dad in his Singer (I think it was a Nine) in similar conditions, I still remember that even though I was only a year or so old. Daytona is hallowed ground in a similar light so it's always a pleasure seeing someone get to enjoy being there and experiencing it.
